Newton Abbot Friday

             Hammer Dan runs tonight
The jumping action today, comes from Newton Abbot and Market Rasen who both hold evening cards. The flat action is at York, Chester and Sandown with an evening card at Goodwood and no all-weather action. Over in Ireland, it is still the flat cards that are dominating, with evening action coming from Fairyhouse and Cork.

We head close to home tonight to Newton Abbot with Hammer Dan, who runs in the 7:20pm Handicap Hurdle over 3miles 2f with Jack Tudor in the saddle. He has been off the track since last summer, but he is making his seasonal reappearance tonight. He won his last two starts nicely and it will be nice to get him back on the track and see how he gets on.

Last night we were at Worcester with Old Bridge who was much more settled than his previous outing, albeit he was still a little on his toes, but it was much more manageable this time which was good. The track did have plenty of rain, which made the ground look plenty hard enough work and probably a little softer than ideal for him. 

Shes Perfect for Charlie Fellowes who made the headlines a few weeks ago after being denied first place in the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches looks to bid for her redemption on the weekend in Chantilly. The owners, Basher Watts and his syndicate was offered an outstanding $2.5 million from Japan, which was turned down as they mentioned it was nowhere near enough.
