Micronormous runs today
It was a fairly quiet day yesterday in the racing front of things and today looks to be a similar day, the jumps card comes from Worcester this afternoon, with a flat card in Scotland at Ayr and at Ripon also. In Ireland, they're jumping only which comes from Roscommon.
We head to Worcester this afternoon with two runners, Micronormous starts us off in the 4:20pm Handicap Hurdle over 2miles 7f with James Davies in the saddle. Last time she got no further than the first fence, but thankfully horse and jockey were all ok. A spin over the hurdles could do her confidence the world of good today and hopefully she'll be able to show some old form.
Nini Star runs in the 5:30pm Mares' Handicap Hurdle over 2miles, with Jack Tudor in the saddle. She is still fairly unexposed over hurdles and the blinkers are added today, she did show a lot of improvement on her last run and I do think she can continue to progress.
It was a delayed start to the action at Market Rasen yesterday as a heavy down pour put a hold on things, but after 17 minutes of a delay the action did go ahead. The first race wasn't one to miss as Alan Doyle steered ten-year-old, veteran Malangen to a 63 length victory. The horse ended a 17 race streak with a win and this was certainly a victory for connections to remember! It was also a Sunday to remember for Lilly Pinchin as she steered home her 100th winner, aboard one for boss Charlie Longsdon.
The Wimbledon action provided plenty of drama over the weekend as Wimbledon organisers have apologised after the electronic line-calling system on Centre Court was turned off in error, missing out at least three calls in the game between Pavlyunchenkova and Kartal. Anastasia Pavlyunchenkova mentioned she felt the game was stolen from her and Britain's Emma Raducanu also voiced her concerns when mentioning she also felt some of the calls had been "dodgy."
What do you call a line of men waiting to get haircuts?
A Barberqueue!
Have a great Monday!
