Both the Galway Festival and Glorious Goodwood may be over for another year but it is a busy Monday on the racing front today. Thee are four flat meetings at Ripon, Windsor, Carlisle and Lingfield and in Ireland they race at Naas on the flat and over jumps at Cork. The stable does not have any runners.
Looking further ahead in the racing World this week, on Wednesday we have the first day of Brighton's three day Festival, while on Thursday we have week three of the racing league at Chepstow. At the weekend, the Shergar Cup will be headlining the ITV Racing coverage on Saturday while there is Group action at the Curragh and Newmarket. On Sunday there is another very good flat card back at Deauville.
We have the final day of the final test between England and India today starting at 11am from the Oval. I was watching it at lunchtime yesterday and thought England were cruising to victory but the loss of Joe Root just after was a major blow and it will be a tense morning ahead. England require just 35 runs with 4 wickets remaining, easy yes?!! There will be a few nerves among those England batters I am sure but I hope they can get the job done!
Lando Norris won the Hungarian Grand Prix over the weekend while lady golfer Miyu Yamashita held off Charley Hull in the AIG Women's Open to win by two shots. It was a dramatic final rugby match in the series between Australia and the British Lions on Saturday. The Aussies had a point to prove and they played well to prevent a 3-0 washout in the series and win in Sydney. There was a red card, injuries and threat of lightning which caused a delay mid-match to add the spice as well which made for an interesting morning!
Martha took part in the Anstey Show yesterday and came home with another first prize in the lead rein jumping. Class 2 was supposed to be her first try on her own but after a little blip when the pony was naughty, this effort was left to another day. Rainy conditions did not help the situation!
David is playing in the Jim Old charity team golf day at Malborough today. They did well last year so I will let you know how they get on tomorrow!
It's been six months since I joined the gym and still no progress.
I'm gong there in person tomorrow to find out what is really going on!
Happy Monday!
