There is one jumps meeting today at Hexham and while the stable does not have any runners there we do have be one on the flat at Musselburgh, Bashful Boy. He travelled up to Scotland yesterday and is set to run in the stayers handicap at 4pm.
We have had this race in mind for him for quite some time and we would like to think he would have a great chance in this. He carries top weight in this 2m2f handicap and Elizabeth
Gale rides taking off a very handy five pounds. She has not ridden our gelding before but can’t stop riding winners on the flat this summer after riding on over jumps previously. While Bashful Boy has not won for a while he has run very well the last twice including last time at Goodwood when he finished fourth in the valuable stayers race when outside of the field. I would like to think the track and ground will suit and I think he has a a very good chance. He has won off of higher marks in the past and I would hope he can win this and then he is likely to head back to Newmarket later in the year for the Cesarwitch.
As well as day two of flag racing at Musselburgh and jumping at Hexham there is also racing on the flat at Catterick and Kempton. In Ireland they have jumps racing at Bellewston.
Champions League football play off action continues this evening, as does the League second round. Everton are at home to Mansfield Town, Manchester United are away to Grimsby while Bristol City visit Fulham this evening as well.
The Manchester Originals easily beat the Northern Superchargers in the cricket hundred last night while today’s game is the Trent Rockets playing the Birmingham Phoenix at 6.30pm this evening.
