There are two jump meetings today at Exeter and Perth, the stable do not have any runners. There are two flat fixtures at Yarmouth and Newcastle and in Ireland they have one flat card at the Curragh.

It is great that Exeter are able to go ahead with their first fixture of the season today after losing their first intended meeting because the ground was too firm. Some welcome rain over the weekend was just enough to ensure the ground will be quick but safe. While it is not the ground many are wanting at this time of year, there are plenty of horses who love it and it is good they get their chance to run today. The racing gets underway at 1.40pm and they don’t have a bad amount of runners with every race having at least four or more in it. It is an all hurdle card and Jack Tudor has three rides, two of them look to have very good chances. Jack is at Pond House this morning to school a few horses and hopefully he may ride a winner this afternoon.

While racing fans attention is now switching to the jumps after the climax of the British flat season on Champions day at Ascot on Saturday, there is still plenty of flat action. To look forward to should that be your thing!

I am writing this morning’s offering from Doncaster where Leanne, Jack and I are at the sales but they have Group race action at their track on Saturday. It is the final Group 1 race of the season, the Futurity stakes for the two year olds and it has provided some big name winners in the past, including Augusts Rodin in 2022.

The Breeders Cup is not then too far away, beginning on 31st October at Del Mar. On Sunday 2nd November it is the crowning day for Irelands flat racing finest. There is currently not much between Dylan Brown Mcgonagale and Colin Keane in the flat jockeys championship with the final day of action to come at the Curragh. There is even less amount of winners between four jockeys fighting it out for the apprentice title.

The Melbourne Cup is on Tuesday 4th November and then the action moves further East to Asia and Japan. Lots to look forward to if you like the flat, my eyes will be firmly focused on the jumps!!

Last night, Brentford beat West Ham 2-0 to inflict more misery on the hammers. Tonight, attention turns to the champions league with both Arsenal and Manchester City in action.

I hate it when I leave stuff in my shopping basket, don’t buy it and then the company emails me and says Forgot something?

Yes I forgot I don’t have £500!

Have a good day!!
