Jaipaletemps runs at Ffos Las Today

It is a busy day for the team today with three runners at Ffos Las and one up at Hexham.  No Walkover travels North to run in the bumper at 3.31pm and Jack Tudor rides.  This is debut under rules and stable debut after he finished second in his only start to date in an Irish point to point.  He was an unlucky loser that day when his jockey lost his irons at the final fence in February.  We bought our four-year-old privately shortly afterwards and the winner went through the sales for £400k and runs at Warwick on Thursday over hurdles so we’ll soon know how good the form is!  No Walkover is a gorgeous big son of Poet’s Word who is doing well under rules as a sire and we like our chap who goes nicely at home.  The Dan Skelton trained Trigg looks the one to beat and hopefully we can do that!

Shot Boii is the first of our trio of runners at Ffos Las and he runs in the three-mile handicap chase at 1.35pm and Rian Corcoran rides taking off his valuable ten pounds.  He didn’t manage to win last season but was very consistent and he starts this campaign from the right end of the weights.  He carries the colours of the David Pipe Racing Club today for the first time and I would like to think he has a good chance.

Allstitchedup runs in the maiden hurdle over 2m4f at 2.05pm and Brendan Powell rides.  He made a pleasing hurdling debut at the track last time to be third after over a year off and I am sure he can build on that effort.  There are only four runners but we are the outsider the quartet but I would hope he won’t be too far away again.

Jaipaletemps completes our trio of runners at Ffos Las and is looking to follow up his win at the track ten days ago under a penalty.  Rian Corcoran keeps the ride  and he is favourite.  The race is over 2m3f today rather than the two miles it was last time but I don’t see that being a problem as all his wins in France were over 2m2f.  Any further rain they get at the track will be a help and I hope he has a very good chance.

Yesterday at Lingfield, Chemical Warfare completed but never really got involved in the race properly.  Held up off the pace, all the horses were in contention approaching the third last fence but the ones in front throughout stayed there which is quite unusual for races at this track!  He has returned home fine this morning which is the main thing and with a bit more help from the handicapper he can be competitive again.

Alongside Hexham and Ffos Las, there is also jumps racing at Warwick this afternoon.  There is flat racing on the all-weather at Kempton and in Ireland they are also on the all-weather at Dundalk.

The World Cup qualifying football matches have now finished but there are some International friendlies this evening and there is Women’s Champions League games with Arsenal and Manchester United both in action.

A door to door salesman knocks on the front door of a house.

It’s answered by a 12-year old holding a glass of cognac and smoking a cigar.

The salesman asks, “Are your parents home?”

The kid replies, “What do you think?”

Have a good Wednesday!
