There are three jumps meetings today with some good racing in prospect at Leicester, Market Rasen and Wincanton.  We have one runner at Market Rasen, Chemical Dave who runs in the bumper on the card at 3.20pm and Jack Tudor rides.  There are only seven runners but it is a competitive little race and we are about 5/1 third best in the betting.  Chemical Dave has a nice pedigree and is related to some good hurdlers.  He has just the one runner in a bumper at Doncaster last season for which he was sent off favourite but he was as green as grass and was on and off the bridle throughout and did as well to finish as close as he did in the end!  He has grown up a lot over the summer and while we are hoping the ground isn't too soft he should run okay.  He has ability and a likeable attitude and it will be good to see how he gets on today but he certainly has a future over jumps whatever today's result.

Yesterday, Walkadina got mugged on the line to finish second at Ludlow.  She travelled and jumped beautifully throughout the race, jumped the last in front and did nothing wrong and galloped all the way to the line but was just caught close home.  Hopefully some compensation awaits next time.  Saccary found Ludlow a little on the sharp side for him on that ground while Jaipaletemps ran another solid race to be third up at Haydock.  That was a competitive races with two progressive horses in front of him and unfortunately for us the ground was not soft enough.  It was very sticky and there was no mud on the horses when they came back in and while he handles it, he definitely is better on heavy ground.  This was still a good run and we will wait for bottomless ground again, maybe back at Ffos Las or I wouldn't be adverse in going back to Haydock.  He liked the course and so did I!  It took a long time to get there but when you get there it is worth it!  The facilities for horses, staff and owners and trainers is brilliant and I wouldn't mind going back, I am a bit tired today though, it was a long old day!

Arsenal won last night to cement their place at the top of the Premiership but Chelsea lost away at Leeds and Liverpool were held to a 1-1 draw by Sunderland.  Tonight Manchester United play West Ham at 8pm.

The second Ashes Test is underway in Australia in Brisbane.  England won the toss and chose to bat and after a nightmare start they have pulled it back to be a respectable 187-4.  Let's just see what the rest of the day holds!

It Hertz!

Have a good day!
