Off To The East Coast!

We travel a long way east this afternoon as we have two runners at Folkestone.  I have fond memories of my time by the sea just down the road at Margate, and hopefully it will be another enjoyable afternoon on the east coast today.  Tom Scudamore is aboard the Malcolm Denmark owned pair of Clever Dick in the novices hurdle at 12.40pm and Buddy Bolero in the maiden hurdle at 1.40pm.

It was a great and fitting end to a wonderful career as The Tatling won his last ever race at Wolverhampton yesterday afternoon at the age of fourteen.  He finished with a real rattle to get up right on the line - it was just like he knew exactly where the finishing line was...mind you, it was his 176th race!  He has tried retirement before but didn't find it to his liking - he's a teenager now, so hopefully he will settle down a little better and enjoy a full, happy and deserved retirement.

When will football embrace technology and use television replays to help the referees?  It has done nothing but improve the game of cricket and tennis and I am sure that it would do the same for the beautiful game.  The refs are making so many incorrect decisions - even the retired ref on television was pointing out all the wrong calls!  Harry Redknapp is not normally an angry manager but after Spurs' reversal at the hands of Stoke at the weekend, I think he has every right to be a little miffed.
