Jaipaletemps runs at Lingfield Today
It is a quieter day on the racing front with just two jumps meetings today at Fakenham and Lingfield. We have one runner at the latter, Jaipaletemps. He runs in the 2.30pm handicap chase over two miles and Rian Corcoran rides. He has been in good form of late, winning two chases at Ffos Las and the finishing third last time in a more competitive race at Haydock. This is still competitive but not quite as hot as last time and I hope he has a good chance. Any rain they get will help but it is not the end of the world if they don’t. He drops back in trip from 2m4f to 2 miles which shouldn’t be a problem and I think the course will suit. Fingers crossed he can be there abouts again.
There is just one Premier League football match today and I shall be listening to it on the radio on the way back from Lingfield! Manchester United play Aston Villa at 4.30pm.
Tomorrow is the last day of racing before Christmas so the jockeys can have a couple of days off before a busy Boxing Day and Festive period ahead. There are lots of equine superstars to look forward to in the next couple of weeks on both sides of the Irish sea. The King George is of course the feature on Boxing Day and we have Gaelic Warrior and Fact To File, Galopin Des Champs, Inothewayurthinkin, Lossiemouth and Sir Gino all likely to be in imminent action to just name a few. There are 12 Grade 1 contests as well as major handicaps like the Welsh National.
ITV Racing will be broadcasting the big race action from Kempton, Aintree and Wetherby on Boxing Day while of course all the British and Irish racing will be shown on Racing TV or Sky Sports Racing. On Saturday 27th, ITV will be showing Kempton and Chepstow while on Monday 29th December they will be at Newbury, Doncaster and Kelso. Looking further ahead, they will be at Cheltenham and Musselburgh on New Year’s Day. I love Christmas Day for family time and a lovely lunch but I look forward to the super racing action we have to follow between Christmas and the New Year and all the other sport!
Christmas tip: wrap empty boxes and put them under the tree.
Every time your child misbehaves, throw one in the fireplace!
Have a lovely Sunday!
