There may be no racing in Britain and Ireland now until Boxing Day but declarations are made this morning for racing on Friday so we will know who lines up in the King George and all the other races we have to look forward to by just after 10am.  The plan, plans are always fluid with horses but we are likely to have three runners on Boxing Day, No Walkover at Aintree who will be partnered by Jack Tudor, Red Wine Supernova who will be ridden by Rian Corcoran at Sedgefield and Activist ridden by Tom Bellamy a little closer to home at Wincanton.

There is racing in France today, flat action at Deauville which includes a three year old claimer which I will be looking at a little more closely later on!  The racing in France does not stop, even on Christmas Day and there is racing from Cagnes Sur Mer should you be interested.  My horse, Jaipaletemps came from a claimer at this South of France track and there are two claimers on Christmas Day, should you want to buy yourself a present!

Yesterday at Lingfield, Ocean Heights ran okay to be a close fifth at Lingfield.  The 1m2f trip is probably a little short of his best and he didn't quite have the gears to quicken like some of the others but he kept galloping to the line and it was my no means a bad run.  I am sure he can be winning on the all-weather very soon.

One bit of racing news that I read last night was the Amo Racing have signed jockey Rowan Scott to be a retained rider.  He joins David Egan on the roster for this growing powerhouse in racing.  Rowan has basically signed a one year deal while David Egan has had is contract extended until 2028.  Rowan is based in the North but did come down and ride out at Pond House for a short time several years ago.  I have a lasting memory of the boys shutting him in the fridge, he was that small he did literally fit in the fridge!  Well done to him though he is riding plenty of winners and it is a good role to have landed.

Last night there was a 1-0 win for Fulham at home to Nottingham Forrest in the Premiership.  Tonight we have the last of the League Cup quarter finals with Arsenal at home to Crystal Palace at 8pm.  I will not be watching as we have our staff Christmas meal this evening at local restaurant Villa Verde in Wellington.  There is a good group of us going and it will be a good evening.

Which of Santa's reindeer has bad manners?

Rude-olf!

Have a good day!
