I see David Ashforth's grab a grand which was for charity lost £994.92, mind you Victor Chandler have generously given £2000 to Jack Berry House and £2000 to the prostate cancer charity so well done to them. Donald McCain told David Ashforth his winner at Uttoxeter yesterday, Real Milan would need a run to put hime straight. The six year old won at 12/1. Trainers are not always the best judges! Meanwhile I was out with camera and am pleased to report that Our Father is fine and has come out of his Ascot race on Friday well. This gorgeous big grey is pictured relaxing in his stable at Pond House.
I have been looking at some of the ante post bets. I know the Henderson team do fancy Grandouet for the champion hurdle. He won with a bit in hand at Cheltenham last time out and he is still 7/1 with Hills. Big Bucks is 4/5 to win the World Hurdle again and if he takes his place in this race I think he will go off a shorter price. Mind you, it is a short price already and you do have to wait until March! Molotof is 25/1 with Boyles Sport for the Supreme Novice's hurdle he battled on gamely to win at Ascot yesterday and I think this is a big price.
David is looking for a new member of stable staff. They must be experienced rider and there is accomodation available but not pets! David does not want anyone to turn up with their pet Python, that would certainly put the squeeze on him!
