Carlisle Runner

            Ben Lilly runs Pointing Today 

There are two jumps meetings today at Carlisle and Exeter and while we don't have any runners at the closest course to the yard, we do travel to Carlisle with one runner today! Penn Avenue runs in the 2.45pm handicap hurdle over 2m1f and Jack Tudor rides.  Our four year old filly has been very consistent in recent starts and likes finishings third!  She has a super attitude is very tough and always tries but things have not quite fallen right in her last few races and fingers crossed they might today.  She jumps well and appears like she might stay further than 2 miles so will appreciate the stiff track.  It looks a good opportunity for her to run well and I don't think she will be far away.  

In Ireland there is a jumps meeting at Limerick and they race on the flat at Naas on the turf.  There is no flat racing in the UK today.

I am taking Ben Lilly to Kilworthy point to point today where he will run in the Mixed Open with Mia Holmes on board.  We have been waiting for some better ground for him and while it might be a tough race to be competitive in, hopefully he will give Mia a good spin on what will just be her second ride of the season.  She is still looking for her first winner as well and as long as they both come back safe and sound today that will be our main objective.  Mia did have Sidi Ismael off us for her to ride but unfortunately he picked up and injury earlier in the season and so it is great she can ride Ben Lilly today.  I think both James and Ashley are in action as well today, either at Kilworthy on the edge of Dartmoor or at Ston Easton on the Mendips.  I will let you know how they all get on tomorrow!

It is the English League Cup Final at Wembley today and it should be a great match between Arsenal and Man City which kicks off at 4.30pm.  There are three Premiership matches as well, with a North East derby between Newcastle and Sunderland at 12 noon, followed by Villa against West Ham at 2.15pm and Spurs against Nottingham Forrest at the same time.  

I was making soup last night and the recipe called for 5 potatoes cubed.

125 potatoes seems a bit excessive, doesn't it?
