      October Hill runs Ffos Las Today

There are two jumps meetings today at Ffos Las and Warwick, both afternoon meetings and we have one runner, October Hill at Ffos Las.  She runs in the opening contest of the day at 2.50pm, a conditional jockeys handicap hurdle over 2m4f and Rian Corcoran rides.  She has now not won in eleven starts over hurdles but has some good placed form to her name and deserves a first victory over hurdles.  She was a good second on her penultimate start at Ludlow but was below her best in a novice event at Exeter last time.  She returns to handicap company today from a reduced mark and with Rian's six pound claim I would hope she has a good chance.  There are six runners but it is a competitive little race and you cannot rule any of them out.  We are about 6/1 in the betting, the track and trip should suit and hopefully she can get her first win.

Rian has one other ride at Ffos Las and he has a very good chance of riding a winner on his outside ride, Bridget Mary in the 4.50pm handicap chase.  It is his first ride for trainer Rebecca Curtis and he is 1/2 favourite so let's hope he can make it a 100% record for the trainer by the end of the day! There are three flat meetings today at Ayr, Yarmouth and Kempton.  In Ireland they had a flat fixture at Gowran Park.

David and Leanne are at Doncaster Sales today for the Goffs horses and training sale.  Over 500 horses will be going through the sales ring today and tomorrow and we are looking to add to our equine team.  There are all types of horses available, point to pointers, national hunt and flat horses plus some that are unraced.  There will be horses available at all budgets and it is about trying to find the right ones which is easier said than done!  Nicky Henderson bought Constitution Hill at this sale a few years ago and he wasn't expensive in todays terms while we bought Main Fact for £6,000 who won nine races in a row!  What ever your budget you are looking for some value and you then just need a bit of luck!  If you are interest in getting involved in ownership at Pond House please do get in touch as we would love to hear from you.

Arsenal are Premier League Champions after Manchester City only managed a 1-1 draw away at Bournemouth last night.  Spurs lost 2-1 at Chelsea which means their relegation worries are not over and it all comes down to the last game of the season on Sunday.  They are in a good positions, two points ahead of West Ham and with a better goal difference but they would have preferred to have had guaranteed safety already!  Their home form has been terrible all season but a point on Sunday will be enough to ensure Premier League football for them next season.  We have the Europa League final this evening and Aston Villa will be hoping to win the Silverware.  They play Freiburg at 8pm.
