      Karnaval Point Winner at Worcester

It was a fantastic night for the team at Worcester yesterday with a stable double and a first professional treble for our conditional jockey, Rian Corcoran.  Rian opened his account for the evening the opening contest on the card, partnering Applicationofcash to success, the second time he has won on this gelding.  Karnaval Point came next and made a winning stable and British debut since arriving from France in the colours of the David Pipe Racing Club.  He travelled and jumped well towards the head of affairs throughout and quickened clear of the field after jumping the second last to score quite impressively.  We claimed him from France after he won at Auteuil last month and he has settled in well since coming over.  He has been very straight forward at home and has a real likeable character and that showed last night and I like his French form.  My only concern last night was the quicker ground but he seemed to enjoy conditions and it was a brilliant way to start his career in this country.  The handicapper will now have his say but on this evidence there is hopefully plenty more to come and lots of fun to be had with him.

Saccary - Double for the Yard, Treble for Rian

Saccary completed our double and Rian's treble by winning the last race impressively.  Again, prominent throughout, he travelled and jumped well and while the Skelton horse was stalking us approaching the last hurdle, Rian pushed him out to score quite easily with his ears pricked.  It was great to get his first win over hurdles and it was a deserved success after he has finished second in his last three starts.  I imagine he may now have a little holiday but when he returns I hope this win will have done his confidence the world of good and he can continue to progress.

There is plenty of racing action today, including two jumps meetings at Bangor and Cartmel and while we do not have any jumps runners, we do head to Salisbury this evening with Cinammon Coco to run on the flat.  He runs in the last race at 8.45pm, a handicap over 1m4f and promising young apprentice Harry Vigors rides and takes a valuable seven pounds off.  Our four year old is a winner in Ireland both over hurdles and on the flat but has been disappointing in two starts for us over hurdles.  We are returning to the level today to hopefully give him a confidence boost and we just want him to run well and have an enjoyable experience.  He shows ability at home and in on a workable mark to run well this evening.  It is a competitive race and we are about 12/1 in the betting but we would just like to see him finish his race off well and give us something to build on going forwards.

Salisbury is one of five flat meetings today with plenty of good racing at Haydock, York, Goodwood and Windsor as well.  In Ireland we have action at the Curragh with Gstaad favourite for the Irish 2,000 Guineas at 3.40pm.

Somerset got the Vitality Blast title defence off to a good start by winning at home to Hampshire last night.  There is more action from that competition today while in the football we have the Scottish Cup final between Celtic and Dunfermline and the Championship play-off final between Hull and Middlesborough at Wembley.

Someone broke into our house last night and stole a dozen eggs.

They also left a pan of boiling water on the stove.

Police believe it was poachers.

Have a good day!
