No jump race action in England today but we do have Southwell on the flat and a jumps card at Thurles to look forward to. Unfortunately I have to report that tomorrows jump race fixtures at Kempton and Bangor have also just been abandoned because of the weather. The good news is that Kempton will instead run a jumpers bumper card, this is some flat races for the National Hunt horses so there will be some interesting action to watch. David does not have any runners but it is great the racecourse have put this on. Southwell are planning a similar day on Sunday so at least some of the jumpers will get a blow out. It looks like Newbury on Saturday could be the next jumps meeting and what a way to come back with a bang, with some fascinating races in prospect!
Fingers crossed the weather does improve and we do have Newbury on. It was a bit warmer again at Pond House this morning, just -2c at 7.30am. Martin took a great picture of the water fountain the other day, it looks very pretty all frozen up, see for yourself below! I see they still have jumps meetings on the all-weather in France. I was watching the action yesterday and they all looked to be jumping well off the surface. I wonder if we will ever consider re-introducing jump action on the all-weather back over here? When watching the French racing I do think it is funny to see them jumping a practice hurdle before the race starts. I wonder if any of them fall at these practice jumps, maybe I should ask Peter Scudamore?!
Chilly at Pond House!
The England football team has no manager and no captain.so that should improve our chances of winning Euro 2012! I think the FA have handled the situation very badly and surely it is the board that should get the sack as well! Why would Harry Rednapp want the job of England manager? Why would you want to work for the FA? The tax man who put the case against Harry and Milan Mandaric should also get the boot. It cost the Inland Revenue £8 million on this case and they were trying to get £40,000 tax. That must have been one of the biggest odds on shots to ever get beat! It seems to me that lots of these big organisations are run by people that are not too bright. Why not give former England manager the Swede Sven the job. I see the Leeds Chairman does not want him at his club so that makes him qualified! Sorry I am in a sarcastic mood this morningi but it does frustrate me! Have a nice day.
