The long journey up to Ayr paid off yesterday as The Tracey Shuffle came home unchallenged to score a 31 length success in the maiden hurdle.  I thought he jumped well on the whole with a couple of exceptions in the home straight which I put down to the ground.  Afterwards there was a great interview on Racing UK with owner Sean Tracey who had been demonstrating exactly what The Tracey Shuffle is...one thing is clear, Sean is not a dancer!  Having said that, he spoke very well and certainly championed David's talents as a trainer - I think David definitely owes Sean a drink!

I see that the Racing Post are putting up Junior as their Grand National selection following the announcement of the weights for the Aintree showcase yesterday at the Savoy Hotel in London.  They say that 14/1 is still generally available, although I have had a casual look and the best price I can find is 10/1.  Mind you, I did advise punters to take a little bit of the 16's a couple of weeks ago, so hopefully you will be on already.  The other one that looks interesting at this stage is West End Rocker who is currently available at around the 20/1 mark.  He will run at Doncaster before going to Aintree.

There is a great football match on ITV tonight as Milan take on Arsenal in the Champion's League - let's hope that the Gunners get an away goal.  Arsenal are 3/1 to come away with the win in San Siro tonight and at those odds, I might just be tempted to have a little interest.

I have lumped on Alan Curbishley to become the next Wolves manager following the departure of Mick McCarthy.  You can still get a bit of 4/5 with Corals - I just hope that my information is correct, otherwise there will be no food on the table in the Barnes household for the remainder of the week!
