This afternoon we run Spirit Of Barbados, Katchmore and Beattie Green at Taunton (all partnered by Tom Scudamore), while Hugo Drax (Conor O'Farrell) is our sole representative at Stratford. I have been to Stratford in the past on the eve of the Festival and I was amazed at just how many Irishmen attend, usually trying to earn a bit of betting money ahead of Cheltenham's four days. With just one more day until the Cheltenham Festival I can see the ground being quite lively - it was like a summer's day down here in the Westcountry yesterday and the forecast is set fair for the rest of the week.

There look to be a number of good things over the coming four days...Sprinter Sacre, Hurricane Fly, Quevega, Sizing Europe and Big Buck's and I am sure there will be plenty staked on multiples like this. Things like this often appear to be too good to be true and that is usually because they are! I'm not sure that they all want genuinely quick ground and it would be no surprise if at least one of the "good things" was beaten, although picking which ones is not easy.

For those punters out there with a few quid to spare, you could treat yourself to a new numberplate to roll up to the Cheltenham Festival with...£140,000 will buy you the private plate MAD2BET. The trouble is, if you bought that plate you wouldn't have any money to bet with!

If you get into trouble at the races today, you can always get out on Arsenal at home to Newcastle at 1/2...you heard it here first!
It looks as though the wheels have fallen off the Manchester City machine. A loss to lowly Swansea shows that they could be feeling the pressure and have left the door open for Manchester United - what a manager Sir Alex is.
