Weekend Jottings!

The stable has runners at Stratford and Wincanton this afternoon, and our stable sponor, Bathwick Tyres sponsors the whole card at Wincanton.  The tracks rely on sponsorship to stage their fixtures and there are no better sponsors around than Bathwick Tyres - they have a runner at 3.10pm as Bathwick Man takes in the handicap hurdle.  I am sure no-one would begrudge them winning some of their own money back!

David has now had 97 winners this season and needs just three more for the ton.  This is the last week for him to reach that milestone, so let's hope that he can find those last three winners.  It's a bit like cricket, while 97 is a great score but the magic ton just seems that bit better.

Looking ahead, I can' believe that Newcastle have had to abandon their card on Tueday due to waterlogging.  The meeting is now to be held at Southwell...firm ground and waterlogged tracks all in the same week - what's going on?!

Personally I am of the belief that if any professional sports person gets caught taking performance enhancing drugs they should be banned for life.  I can't quite believe that some of these governing bodies are considering letting banned athletes compete again - it makes me ask the question, just who are the dopes?!
