Our good start to the new season continued yesterday as our only runner at Hereford, Shoegazer won on his chase debut.  His jumping improved as the race went on, winning with a fair bit in hand under Tom Scudamore and he looks to be the type to follow-up before too long.  Tom only had two rides at the meeting but went on to ride a double when landing The Chazer in the last race... a first and last race double - I wonder what he did in between races?!

There are four meetings on today - two flat meetings at Musselburgh and Wolverhampton as well as two jumps cards at Fontwell and Bangor.  Barton Stacey is our sole representative at Bangor this evening in the 6.15pm race.  Tom Scu is in the saddle and our seven year old has been very consistent, finishing in the frame on all starts since joining us - let's hope that he can put his head in front this evening.

I can't believe that A P McCoy is 38 today - he's like a fine wine that keeps getting better with age.  Of course, AP wouldn't know what old wine tastes like as he doesn't drink - just think, when he wakes up in the morning that's as good as he's going to feel all day!  I think I would probably go back and hide under the duvet!  Only joking champ - many happy returns.

Former jump jockey Graham Lee rode his first winner since his reincarnation as a flat jockey.  He won on Jim Goldie's Northern Fling at Musselburgh and looked very strong in the finish.  I am sure that plenty more flat trainers will be giving him the leg-up before too long.

There was a great win for the Hammers yesterday as they beat Cardiff 2-0 away from home in the first leg of their Championship play-off tie.  The Hammers two goals were scored by Welshman Jack Collison - it certainly looks like we are on our way to Wembley!  Tonight sees the other semi-final between Blackpool and Birmingham.

There is another big match this weekend as Newcastle take on Manchester City.  I am sure that the result of this match is going to decide the fate of the Premiership - it will be just like watching the Cup Final.  I bet every Manchester United player will be watching and cheering for Newcastle - I wonder if Sir Alex is as noisy in front of the television?!
