There are four meetings taking place today with flat action taking place at Redcar, Windsor and Wolverhampton and a jumps card at Towcester this evening.  The stable has one runner at Towcester, Martial Law in the 7.30pm race.  He was very unlucky at Ffos Las last week when he was six lengths clear with the race at his mercy when he stumbled and fell at the last - let's hope that he can atone for that misfortune this evening.

Midnight Tuesday produced a good performance to win his second race under Tom Bellamy at Worcester yesterday afternoon, while Shoegazer finished runner-up at Uttoxeter on his second chase start. He was trying to concede a stone to the winner (who was a useful hurdler), so while he was a beaten favourite, it probably wasn't a bad performance.

What a finish to the Premiership at the weekend!!  Yesterday Manchester City won their first title in forty-four years although they did leave it late, with two goals in injury time handing a 3-2 defeat to QPR.  Joey Barton managed to get himself sent off for QPR and if he was on my team I would have him shipped out straight away - he is bad news.  I must admit, I did feel sorry for all the United fans who thought their team had snatched the title back in the last game...actually, no I didn't!  Bolton, Blackburn and Wolves go down, while Arsenal finished third and get into Europe.

American golfer Matt Kuchar won the Players Championship and Sawgrass at the weekend.  The island hole looks like a complete nightmare - it isn't very long so loads of players were putting the ball in the water.  I wonder if there are any alligators in the lake?...I'm sure my mates would be in the water looking for those Pro V golf balls!

I see that the Scouts have brought back Bob-A-Job...its where the boys come round and cut your lawn or wash your car for a bob!  It's been fifteen years since they pulled the plug on this idea - with inflation and the rising cost of living it will probably be called Fiver-A-Job!  Anyway, I reckon I will get my local scouts to cut my lawn - even at a fiver it would be well-worth it as it looks more like a tropical rainforest in my garden!
