Qalinas is the sole runner from the yard this evening - he takes part in the 6.05pm race and will be ridden by Tom Scudamore. He is yet to get his head in front, but does boast some very useful placed form including behind the likes of Brampour and it is surely only a matter of time before he picks up a race. There are six meetings on throughout the country today, with York, Newmarket and Salisbury hosting flat cards and jumping taking place at Perth, Ludlow and Folkestone.
There is some quality action at York today with the Dante taking centre stage. The Dante has traditionally been considered as one of the strongest Derby Trials and it will be interesting to see if any legitimate challengers to Camelot emerge. The Andrew Balding trained Bonfire showed some very good form as a juvenile and he will be favourite this afternoon.

I was quite surprised to see that King Kenny Dalglish has been given the sack by Liverpool. I know that the supporters would have been slightly disappointed with their Premiership position, but they did lift the Carling Cup and also reached the final of the FA Cup - not bad considering the players at their disposal. I was quite amused to hear a Scouser asked for his view about it all - he said that it was a shame, but you should never go back...he then went on to add that he thinks that Rafa Benitez should be the new manager! I must be missing something?

I'm looking forward to watching the cricket between England and the West Indies. This looks to be a big match for England captain Andrew Strauss - not even the captaincy may save him. Afterall, I'm sure that some of the in-form players can call heads or tails!
