A Few Runners

                  Clever Dick

There is three meetings today, a flat card at Ripon plus two over the sticks at Stratford and Market Rasen.  David has three runners and Tom Scudamore goes to Market Rasen to ride Spirit of Barbados and Clever Dick.  Spirit of Barbados goes in the 3.30pm and made a pleasing debut over the larger obastacle when finsihing third at Ffos Las last time.  He carries top weight but will like conditions and he should run well.  Clever Dick is making his chasing debut in the 4pm novice handicap chase.  He won a hurdle race at Taunton last season and has been schooling well at home so we are hoping that he also runs well.  Beattie Green runs in the seller at Stratford and Conor O'Farrell is in the saddle.

There is also some great action over in France this afternoon at Auteuil.  One of our amateur jockey's Mikey Ennis has gone over to ride for G Macaire in a chase so fingers crossed for him!  There are also the two big races on the card with the feature hurdle race having runners from both Willie Mullins and Paul Nicholls and also the Grand Steeplechase de Paris so if you can watch it I am sure there will be some great action.  As always the prize money in France is very good and attracted some nice horses.

If you were picking the best Great Britain football team for the Olympics, would David Beckham get in it?  There is no way he would be in my team unless I wanted to sell more football shirts!  He can't get into the England team so how can he get in the Great Britain team?!

I saw an advert in the paper for something called Prokalm which reduces anxiety and nervousness.  I though I could do with some of that until I realised it was for horses!

I see American golfer Michelle Wie had two hole in ones in the same round, I wonder if she does the lottery?!  Have a nice day.
