Today there are six race meetings around the country, four flat and two over the jumps at Cartmel and Towcester.  David has one runner at Cartmel, Cabora and runs in the 2.05pm race.  The four year old finished third last time out on her British debut at Wincanton and she would not have to improve a lot to win this afternoon with Timmy Murphy in the saddle.  There was a lot of rain around the country yesterday, indeed we had 18mm at Pond House over the weekend and David withdrew all of our runners at Uttoxeter and Nottingham yesterday.  That is one thing to keep an eye on if you are watching the racing and having a bet at the moment.  A lot of the horses want good ground or faster and due to the weather conditions the going is very changeable at the moment and as we know it is no good running a horse on ground they don't like as they will not win!

It was a great Saturday for the O'Brien yard winning both the Cornation Cup and the Derby.  I bet young Joseph cannot believe what is going on at the moment!  Just how good is Camelot?!  He is now the winner of the 2000 Guineas and the Derby and surely now he goes for the St Leger and I can see him winning this and therefore the Triple Crown which will be fantastic for racing.  There was a very big crowd at Epsom watching the Derby, in fact 130,000 people turned up for the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations.  I hear there were lots more travellers on the Downs as well, the reason being is that it did not clash with Appleby Fair which starts next Friday.  If you were at Epsom I do hope you got some lucky heather and and you had a great day, it certainly looked very good watching on the telly.  There is a street party in the local village of Culmstock today and David and the family will be popping down to enjoy the celebrations!

England beat Belgium 1-0 in the football on Saturday but to be honest I thought the Belgians were a lot better than us.  I don't think we will concede a lot of goals at the Eurpopean Championships but I don not think we will score a lot either!  The manager has got them well organised at the back but they are not very attractive to watch!  Have a nice day and enjoy the Jubilee celebrations.
