Following a blank day on the jump racing front yesterday, it is nice to be back in action with runners at Uttoxeter and Hereford this evening. Bathwick Man (pictured above winning at Towcester last time) and Dukes Art represent the yard at Hereford and will be ridden by stable jockey Tom Scudamore, while Timmy Murphy takes the mount aboard Cabora at Uttoxeter - all three of them possess plenty of ability and we look to have some solid chances. Meanwhile on the level, there are four meetings at Newbury, Nottingham, Yarmouth and Haydock.

I find it absolutely incredible that Harry Redknapp has left his position as manager of Tottenham Hotspur after he was unable to thrash out a deal with the chairman of the Club. Harry has done a great job for Spurs and will be missed by all of the fans who love his style of football. He is also great with his players and I wouldn't want to be the manager that has to follow him - he has some big shoes to fill. I wouldn't be at all surprised if David Moyes of Everton is next in line for the job - good luck to him, he will need it!

Moving onto Euro 2012, it was a good result for the Portugese last night as they beat Denmark 3-2. They did so without Ronaldo being anywhere near his best. Meanwhile, Germany beat the Dutch and are now as short as 5/2 to win the tournament.
There was a great advert for Paddy Power at the European Championships yesterday when Nicklas Bendtner scored for the Danes yesterday. I thought we were in for one of the most unusual goal celebrations to date when he proceeded to take his shorts down...I needn't have worried however as he was merely showing off the Paddy Power logo on his pants! I must hand it to the Paddy Power marketing team - they do come up with some great ideas to promote their company, even if they are not always in the best of taste!
There are some strange bets being offered by the bookies, such as 10/1 that Wayne Rooney scores with his head. I would have thought it should be much bigger odds than that - he's not going to want to mess up his new barnet following his hair transplant!
Tonight the Italians look like a spot of value to beat the Croatians at 13/10, while Ireland look to be up against it when they take on Spain - Spain are best priced at 2/7.
