                  Too Generous

David's horses ran well at Worcester yesterday, especially a great first ever run from Too Generous in the mares bumper.  Our four year old dead heated with the favourite Blue Article after we looked beaten two furlongs out and looked sure to finish second but Tom Scu kept at our filly and she responded well.  She was very game and in another couple of strides she would have won the race outright.  She can only improve for the experience and she is a lovely prospect to look forward to over hurdles as she has already done some schooling at home and shown a good aptitude for the jumping game.  Beattie Green went up twelve pounds for winning a seller on her latest start and the handicapper completely over reacted and I hope he now has a look at her rating and drops her quite a few pounds after she was disappointing yesterday.  Battle Group ran a funny race.  He looked like winning turning in to the straight but did not give Tom Scu a lot of help after that and finished second.  He will win but he is the only one that knows when!

Today there are five meetings across the country, all on the flat and David has not got any runners.  His next runners are likely to be at Uttoxeter on Sunday.  Today there is action at Newcastle, Warwick, Yarmouth, Hamilton and Leicester.  The ground at Leicester will be bottomless as they had an inspection on the track yesterday and it just passed fit for racing.  It is hard to believe we are nearly in July and we still have heavy ground.  Thankfully we have escaped relatively lightly in the westcountry compared to some places although we are due to get a fair bit of rain today.

Spain got through to the European finals with a penalty shoot out against Portugal last night.  It was hard to believe that the two teams played for 120 minutes without scoring, in fact there was hardly an attempt on goal on target!  Are the defenses now too well organised?!  Tonight's semi final is Germany versus Italy and surely the Germans will win this on.  They are best priced 10/11 and that looks okay.

We have a lady tennis player, Heather Watson in the last 32 of Wimbledon!  Bet Victor had her at 10,000/1 for the title.  She did win the 2009 US junior open and she is now in the top 100 in the world.  With normal improvement you would think she would be able to make it into the top 50 in the world which is great for British tennis.  Andy Murray plays on centre court this afternoon and hopefully he should be safely into the third round by this time tomorrow.  Have a nice day.
