Sadly Chepstow did not manage to pass their 8am inspection this morning and have been forced to abandon their meeting, much as Perth did yesterday. It is a shame as I thought that David had found a reasonable opportunity for Raslan on the level. Nevertheless, we have three runners over the sticks at Worcester this afternoon - they are Qalinas in the boys' race and Decoy and Vertige Dore in the handicap hurdle. While the heavy ground should not inconvenience our runners, I would imagine that it will find out a few of those taking part this afternoon who are not used to such ground in July!

I am told that we have just endured the wettest June in history. I don't think that I would argue with that...I have never known so many meetings having to hold inspections or even worse, be abandoned at this time of year.
I wonder what sort of ground Saturday's Coral Eclipse at Sandown will be held on? All eyes will no doubt be on Aidan O'Brien's superstar So You Think who has won his no less than ten Group One's. Let's hope that he does not scare off all of the opposition - the ground could be a big factor.
The first couple of races at Brighton yesterday were run in thick fog. You always tend to get a bit of a sea mist at the track and it must be a nightmare for commentators trying to pick out the horses. It was good to see one of our former assistants, Alistair Lidderdale among the winners at the Brighton with the success of Know No Fear. It just goes to show that Alistair must have been listening when he was at Pond House all those years ago. His seven year old is very consistent and if the ground continues to come up heavy, he could be winning again - conditional jockey Leonna Mayor looked tidy too...I mean as a jockey!

Fancy buying a football club and then not having a league to play in! Well, that the scenario that could occur with the new Rangers Football Club in Scotland. They will be having a vote later on to see if the other teams are going to allow them back into the Scottish League - the amazing thing is, the old Rangers team will also get a vote. It's a funny old system in Scotland!
