It is yet another blank day on the jumping front, but at least there is some light at the end of the tunnel with some action due to take place at Stratford and Fontwell on Thursday.  The stable has some entries at Fontwell and I can't wait to see the National Hunt action again.  In the meantime we have five meetings this afternoon at Ffos Las, Lingfield, Kempton, Thirsk and Wolverhampton - it looks very tricky with some very tight handicaps that will take a bit of working out.

I was pleased to see Excelebration win the Jacques le Morois at Deauville yesterday afternoon.  Once again it showed him to be a genuine Group One performer in his own right and will hopefully silence critics once and for all who claim that Frankel has "beaten nothing".  Frankel has demolished Excelebration on each occasion they have met - he cannot do any more than beat what is put in front of him and when the second best miler in Europe keeps getting thrashed, it is hardly surprising that other trainers are not willing to take him on.

I thought the Olympics came to a glittering end last night in London.  It was a really vivid display with some great British music from many eras.  I'm not sure I agree with the policy of wheeling out these ageing rockers though...I didn't think that organisers had left the best until last with The Who, and much as Sir Paul McCartney is a musical genius, I didn't think he sounded too good at the Queen's Jubilee Celebrations or the Opening Ceremony - perhaps it is time for him to "let it be"?!

I hope a few of you took my advice and had an interest in Rory McIlroy for the USPGA at the weekend.  Readers were advised to alleviate the bookies of a bit of 20/1 and the Irishman did the business, winning by a massive eight shots.
