There is a busy day's racing ahead with six meetings taking place - four of them on the flat at Salisbury, Newmarket, Beverley and Chepstow as well as two jumps cards (at last!) at Stratford and Fontwell.  The stable has four runners at Fontwell this evening - Dandyvic, Starlife, Dukes Art and Lahib The Fifth.  Starlife makes her debut for the yard and looks very interesting having won easily last time out at Auteuil, the ground will be a lot different tonight but she works like a decent horse.  Lahib The Fifth tries to build on his encouraging first run for the yard, while Dukes Art takes in the 2m2f handicap hurdle.  Over at Chepstow Vergrigio has his third start for us on the level and will be ridden by apprentice jockey Simon Pearce.

I have just come back from Cyprus with my wife Jane and guess what?  Martin and Carol turned up to surprise us while we were over there!  Mind you, it is the second year running that they have surprised us - I musn't tell the office where I am going on holiday next year, or I will tell them one country and go somewhere else!  Whilst we were in Cyprus we had dinner with Matt Archer who owned Buena Vista - Matt now lives in Cyprus near Coral Bay...it's a great place for a holiday but I am not sure that I could put up with the hot weather all year round - I know Martin couldn't!  I was only joking about telling the office where I am going next year - it is always nice to see MCP and Carol, well Carol anyway!

I arrived back just in time for the England versus Italy.  Just think, if these two countries played together in a qualifier most of those that played last night wouldn't even get a game!  Hart, Cole, Rooney, Gerrard and Terry would certainly come back to form our strongest line-up, while the Italians would have at least five different players so let's not get carried away by our 2-1 victory.
