         Hunterview on the Gallops

David has sent two runners to Perth today to contest the summer champion hurdle which has very good prize money on offer.  His Excellency and Hunterview both run in the 4.15pm race and 11 runners contest this race for the £25,000 added prize money.  His Excellency is making his Pond House debut after being bought at Doncaster sales recently.  He has fairly decent form in Ireland but this will be no easy task for our four year old carrying top weight although promising young rider Kieron Edgar takes a handy ten pounds off his back.  This is Kieron's first ride as a conditional in this country. He was champion novice point to point rider in the Devon and Cornwall area last season and decided to turn pro over the summer.  He is a name to watch out for in the coming months.

David also runs Hunterview in the same race.  The six year old had a run on the flat a couple of weeks ago and that should have blown any cobwebs away and put him spot on for this.  Both runners have small each way chances in this competitive race.  There is good prize moeny on offer for the whole Perth card ths afternoon.  Even the Bumper is worth £3000 so well done to the Scottish track.  There are also another seven meetings on around the country today, six on the flat at Newbury, Newmarket, Ripon, Chester, Doncaster and Lingfield.  There are two jumping fixtures at Perth as we have mentioned and also at Market Rasen.  On the Newbury card there are two Group races and another Listed race.  If it is the flat racing you want then Newbury does look to have the best of the action but there is certainly enough to keep us all entertained!

It is great that the new football season kicks off today.  If you like betting on odds on shots then there looks to be some good ones in the football today.  Arsenal 2/5, Leicester 13/20, Sheffield United 8/13 and my team West Ham at 13/10 to beat Aston Villa.  The Hammers have made quite a few signings over the summer and need to get off to a good start back in the Premiership.  They look to have some matches they are capable of winning early on in the season so if they have a bad start the fans will be shouting for the return of the East ends favourite son Harry Redknapp!

Just a little thought for they day.  Imagine asking Mickey Fenton or Jimmy Quinn if they are riding any horses they fancy today.  They have gone 93 rides between them without a winner, I might give that question a miss!  Have a nice day.
