Frankel_York_webAbove: The world's best - Frankel on the way to post before his amazing York win yesterday

Frankel posted another amazing performance with a seven length dismissal of his rivals in the Juddmonte International at York over 1m2 1/2f yesterday.  He stayed the trip really well and looks like he will get any trip.  He was held up by jockey Tom Queally and won without being asked a serious question - it was a glorious sight as he breezed past the top-class St Nicholas Abbey while still on the bridle.  He is likely to have one last start before retiring to stud - he will probably work harder there...he is undoubtedly the greatest racehorse of our time.  I did like the headline in The Sun - "Ussain Colt"...that sums it up in a nutshell!

It wasn't the best of evenings for the yard yesterday evening at Newton Abbot...I don't mean in terms of results, but sadly we lost a horse as Presenting Ace was fatally injured and young jockey Frank Hayes ended up in Torquay Hospital.  When you lose a horse it effects everyone in the yard, from the owners to the stable staff who look after them and care for them everyday - it really is very sad.  Shoegazer fell at the penultimate fence when still looking to have a good chance in the novices' chase.  Shallow Bay was the highlight of our evening, finishing runner-up in the novices' hurdle...we have certainly had better nights at Newton Abbot.

Moving on to today there are five meetings - three on the flat at York, Bath and Folkestone, as well as two jumps cards at Cartmel and Ffos Las.  We try again today with three runners at Ffos Las, Katchmore and Decoy in the 4.25pm race and Businessmoney Judi in the 5.25pm.  Businessmoney Judi makes her seasonal debut under Tom Scudamore after a break of 300 days - I don't think she is badly treated so we will just have to see how we get on...hopefully it will be a better day today.

In football, Chelsea managed to win 4-2 last night while Blackburn were also victorious with a 1-0 success.  I was a bit worried when Chelsea went 2-1 behind, particularly as I had doubled them up with Blackburn at even money!  Still all's well that ends well.

Tonight I will take Liverpool to win at Hearts - 8/15 is the best price on offer and they will be looking to erase their weekend defeat by West Brom from their memories.  Having said that, if Suarez had converted any of the ten chances he had, they could well have beaten WBA.
