There was another notable milestone achieved yesterday as Western Warhorse became David's 100th winner of the season with a convincing success in the National Hunt novices' hurdle at Chepstow under Tom Scudamore. David made it through the £1million prize money barrier last week and to make it past 100 this week is a good achievement - with a fortnight of the season remaining and a few big meetings left, there is still room to improve on those totals yet.

Following a number of near misses throughout the day yesterday it was good to get a winner on the board when Seven Nation Army made a winning debut for the yard in the closing bumper at Fontwell, in the process moving us onto the 99 winner mark for the season. Earlier in the day El Lobo had an unlucky fall when looking dangerous in the handicap chase, while the same fate also befell Bygones Sovereign when still holding a chance in the 2m6f handicap hurdle, and Waterunder produced another creditable effort in finishing runner-up in the two miler. With runners this afternoon at Chepstow and Wetherby, let's hope that the 100th winner of the season is not the hardest to get!

Today there are four meetings, three over the sticks at Wincanton, Fontwell and Ludlow as well as an all-weather flat card at Kempton. The stable has four runners at Wincanton - Bladoun (pictured above), Bygones Sovereign, El Lobo and Waterunder, and a runner at Ludlow - Seven Nation Army who makes his debut for the stable this afternoon. Bygones Sovereign is turned out again under a penalty following his success at Exeter last week and he will be partnered this afternoon by amateur jockey Mikey Ennis who replaces the injured Tom Bellamy. According to the handicapper, he is 1lb 'well-in' compared with his new rating.

Today there are no jump meetings, although there are four flat cards to look forward to - two on the turf at Catterick and Nottingham and a couple of all-weather cards at Kempton and Lingfield...the stable has no runners this afternoon. It will certainly be good to have some jump racing back tomorrow and we have plenty of entries at Fontwell and Wincanton, including recent Exeter winner Bygones Sovereign (pictured above).

Well, our recent dry spell looks as though it has come to an end...it is proper miserable here this morning following four millimeters of rain overnight. I know, it doesn't sound like very much but it is enough to make everything damp and the sky looks full of more of the wet stuff! There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with two flat cards at Pontefract and Southwell as well as a jumps fixture at Carlisle. The stable has no runners today.

Today there are three meetings, one over the sticks at Kelso as well as two all-weather cards at Kempton and Wolverhampton. It all has a bit of an anti-climactic feel to proceedings today following the highs of the Grand National at the weekend. Swing Bill ran a fantastic race in the Aintree spectacular, finishing a very creditable sixth, in the process giving his young jockey Conor O'Farrell the thrill of a lifetime. The amazing part is that Swing Bill is twelve years old now. Indeed, five of the first six home were either eleven or twelve years of age so I guess a little bit of experience went a long way on Saturday. The best news of all of course was that all the horses came back safe and sound, thus avoiding the annual slating from the press. Anyway, congratulations to connections of Aurora's Encore, particularly trainer Sue Smith - a terrific performance and a day she is never likely to forget.

Today there are just two jumps cards at Ascot and Hexham and David does not have any runners. There is a good card at Ascot with lots of prize money on offer on Countryside day although it is back to normal life after an amazing three days of racing at Aintree. More reflections on the last few days tomorrow. I see that owner Andy Stewart phoned Sir Peter O'Sullevan from Mexico to wish him well but Sir Peter said he is on a pay as you go contract and the cost of an International calls are high, the conversation wiped out all of my £50 top up!
David has broken through the magic million pounds in prize money for the season. It is only a number but trainers like to get through that as it is an amazing feat. Now we just need to make it to 100 winners for the season, we just need three more, fingers crossed!
