There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from York, Yarmouth and Bath while there are jumps fixtures from Newton Abbot and Perth.  David Noonan has picked up three outside rides at Newton, while stable jockey Tom Scudamore and stable amateur Rex Dingle have one apiece.  We wish them well, although I'm sorry to say lads, I won't be in a hurry to be backing any of them.

There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Wincanton, Sedgefield and Southwell, while there are flat fixtures from Chepstow and Beverley.  The Pond House team has two runners at Wincanton and another at Southwell.  Celestial Path (pictured above) takes in the 2m5½f handicap hurdle at Wincanton at 3.20pm - he was a smart flat horse but is yet to show that level over timber.  Hopefully the step-up in trip will bring about some improvement.  Shell Crystal goes in the bumper at 4.50pm - she is a well bred filly but would need to improve on her only start to date to figure in what looks a decent contest.  Tom Scudamore is aboard our Wincanton pair.  Over at Southwell, Ilovemints runs in the 2m4½f mares' handicap hurdle.  She won a bumper at Bangor and produced her best effort over hurdles to date when third at Chepstow on heavy ground.  She should go well under David Noonan.

It is a beautiful, sunny morning here at Pond House.  There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from Catterick, Windsor and Wolverhampton, while there are jumps fixtures from Kempton and Towcester.  There are no runners from Pond House today although stable jockey Tom Scudamore has picked up an outside ride aboard an odds-on favourite at Towcester so it looks as though the 'one ride theory' could pay off today, although we won't get rich beyond our wildest dreams!  Timeforben finished fourth at Southwell yesterday afternoon.  She led two out but didn't have any extra after the last, perhaps a slightly shorter trip could be in order?

There are three meetings taking place this afternoon and peculiarly they are all over the sticks with the action coming from Ludlow, Plumpton and Southwell.  David has one runner this afternoon as Timeforben (pictured above) contests the 2m7f mares' novices' handicap hurdle at Southwell at 3.30pm.  She won nicely at Kempton last month and a rise of 4lbs for that does not look unreasonable.  She looks to hold sound claims under Tom Scudamore.  I see that David Noonan is also at the meeting having picked up a couple of outside rides.  Let's hope that he can get a lift to the track with Tom to curb travelling expenses - we are not all Rory McIlroy's!

There is a really busy day of racing in store with no less than seven meetings taking place - you would almost think it was a Bank Holiday!  There are flat cards from Ascot, Lingfield, Nottingham and Thirsk, while there is a mixed card at Haydock and jumping action from Hexham and Warwick.  There are no runners from Pond House this afternoon, although stable jockey Tom Scudamore has picked up a couple of outside rides at Haydock and while they are big prices, they can be given chances on bits and pieces of form.

There are six meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from Chester, Lingfield, Ascot, Nottingham and Ripon, while the jumping action comes from Market Rasen.  The best of the stable's runners yesterday was Great Tempo who produced a solid effort when finishing third on his chasing debut at Worcester.  I am not sure that he truly saw the trip out but it was a promising first effort over the larger obstacles nonetheless, conceding lumps of weight away to the first two.  On this evidence he should be picking up races over fences before too long.  There are no runners from Pond House today.  The big race of the day is the Chester Cup - it is a red hot handicap over 2m2½f.  Believe it or not, it is still very important to get a low draw in a race like this even over the marathon trip.

It is a busy day ahead with five meetings taking place this afternoon.  The action comes form Wincanton, Worcester and Huntingdon over the sticks, while there are a couple of flat fixtures from Chester and Chelmsford City.  David has three runners at Worcester today; Great Tempo, Red Square Revival and Purple 'N Gold, while Lady Of Longstone runs at Wincanton.  Great Tempo contests the 2m4f novices' handicap chase at 2.10pm.  Our five year old has schooled well at home and is ready for his first start over the larger obstacles.  He has to carry top weight of 11-12, but there is no doubting his latent ability, although he had become a touch frustrating over timber.  Hopefully the switch to fences will bring some improvement.  It certainly worked for Red Square Revival (pictured above) who runs in the 2m4f handicap chase at 2.40pm.  He ran six times over fences last season, winning twice and finishing in the frame on a further three occasions.  He is higher in the weights as a consequence but should still go well under Tom Scudamore.
