It's a busy day with no less than six meetings taking place. There are flat cards from Ascot, Catterick and Wolverhampton as well as jumps cards from Ffos Las, Stratford and Market Rasen. Just take a look at the prize money at Ascot - there is over £4.3 million up for grabs including the Champion Stakes which has a whopping £737,000 for the winning connections. If you are thinking of going along to Champions' Day at Ascot, make sure your hat fits tightly as it is going to be a little breezy! There are no runners from Pond House this afternoon although stable jockey Tom Scudamore has picked up five outside rides at Ffos Las.

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from Redcar and Newcastle while there is jumps action from Fakenham and Wincanton. David runs Red Square Revival (pictured above) in the 3.25pm race at Wincanton; a 3m1f handicap chase. He was not beaten at all far when finishing third over 2½ miles at Warwick last time out from this same mark of 97 and looks as though he will appreciate this step-up in trip. He should be in the shake-up under Tom Scudamore.

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from Brighton and Newcastle as well as jumps fixtures from Carlisle and Uttoxeter. David has two runners at Uttoxeter; Skilful Lord and Bambi du Noyer. Skilful Lord contests the two mile juvenile hurdle at 2.20pm and he would need to improve on what he has shown so far to figure here against some highly-rated rivals. Bambi du Noyer runs in the 2½m handicap hurdle at 5.00pm having won in very good style at Exeter last week. It was a conditional jockey's race so he escapes a penalty and can run from the same mark of 101, meaning that he is 11lbs ahead of the handicapper and should go very close under Tom Scudamore.

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from Nottingham, Lingfield and Kempton and a jumps fixture from Wetherby. There are no runners from Pond House today, although David does still feature heavily in the Racing Post with his stable tour appearing today. Not only does it make for interesting reading there are some beautiful photographs from Ed Whitaker (pictured above, left) - he's made me proud, I couldn't have done much better myself! Make sure you are early to grab a copy as Martin does like to pick up a few extras so you may miss out! I always enjoy this feature before the start of the core season every year and find the paper worth buying just to hear what the trainers say about their horses for the season ahead.

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with action from Leicester and Kempton on the flat as well as a couple of jumps fixtures from Worcester and Huntingdon. David runs Lady Of Longstone at Worcester in the 2m4f handicap hurdle at 3.40pm - she is undeniably well-treated on the best of her form although she has been a bit disappointing of late and needs to bounce back under Michael Heard. Kalifourchon contests the 2m7f handicap hurdle at 4.40pm - the race has good prize money attached to it so unsurprisingly it is a competitive little contest with some useful runners in the line-up. Kalifourchon (pictured above) has won four times and finished runner-up recently at Southwell on good ground, although the suspicion remains that he is still high enough in the weights on a mark of 120. The Post make him a 10/1 chance and stable jockey Tom Scudamore is in the saddle.

There are three meetings taking place this afternoon, all on the flat with the action coming from at Yarmouth, Musselburgh and Windsor. Unsurprisingly there are no runners from Pond House today. With the tail-end of Hurricane Ophelia due to hit these shores later today, let's hope that everyone keeps safe and well and there is not too much damage caused.

There are just two meetings today, a flat card at Goodwood and a jumps card at Chepstow. Tom Scu has two rides at Chepstow, Elegant Escape and Fear Clic. With the ground at Chestow desribed as good to soft there shouldn't be too many non-runners and there looks to be some good races. I have just been looking at the card in Ireland at Cork. They have some good prize money on offer, where do they get it from? Maybe we could get some ideas for over here at our racecourses?! Prize money is even better at Naas with a 120,00 Euros two year old auction race. They have over 200,000 Euros up for grabs over the entire card.
