Saturday proved a good day for the yard with Houston Dynimo winning the handicap chase at Wincanton under a great ride from David Noonan, while Lady Of Longstone also ran well to finish runner-up in the mares' handicap hurdle from a career high mark.  The pair of them earned close to £12,000 in prize money...just think how many cakes Sue can make with that much money!  Bless her, she must have made nearly 200 cakes (pictured above) last week for the staff at Pond House and the staff were all over them like a plague of locusts and that was just Gail, Gemma and James in the office!  No wonder Sue's horses are running so well, the staff are all carrying a bit of overweight up the gallops!

Today we have just two meetings, both over the sticks at Ffos Las and Sandown.  The stable has one runner this afternoon as the improving Kalifourchon takes in the conditional jockeys' handicap hurdle at 12.45pm.  Our four year old is on a firm upward curve having won three of his last four starts - Michael Heard takes the ride and claims a handy 6lbs off his back.  The official going is currently being described as good/soft which should be fine.  It is a great shame that the Future Stars Chase has only attracted four runners, but at least there is a quality field with Cheltenham Gold Cup hero Coneygree making his seasonal return.  Coneygree is well clear on official figures, although with the first three in the market all having their first starts of the season, much will depend on who is the fittest.

Today there are five meetings taking place with jumps action from Aintree, Wincanton and Kelso as well as flat meetings from Newcastle and Chelmsford City (who race on the all-weather).  Shotavodka is now a non-runner at Aintree, leaving us with two domestic runners at Wincanton; Lady Of Longstone and Houston Dynimo - they wouldn't want too much more rain.  Lady Of Longstone is partnered by winning jockey Michael Heard again, while Houston Dynimo ran a cracker last time at Kempton and this season's leading amateur David Noonan is once again aboard.  The big race of the day as far the stable is concerned is the Grade One Hurdle at Auteuil in which David runs Broadway Buffalo.

This afternoon there are four meetings taking place with three jumps fixtures from Musselburgh, Fontwell and Hexham supported by an all-weather flat card from Chelmsford City.  Richard Johnson travels all the way up to Musselburgh for five rides today as he bids to further extend his lead at the top of the jockeys' standings.  Three of them are forecast favourites and the best of them look to be Brise Vendeenne and Village Vic.  Course officials are still giving the official going as good up in Scotland - they have obviously avoided all of the rain we have had in the west country over the last few days.  I reckon you will see the horses walking home at Hexham today.  It is a stiff course at the best of times, but when it gets soft the uphill finish invariably finds out it's share of the field.

Today we have four meetings with jumps fixtures from Market Rasen, Musselburgh and Towcester supported by an all-weather flat card from Chelmsford City.  David has one runner this afternoon, Great Choice who runs in the handicap hurdle at Towcester.  He has run eight times without winning although he is extremely consistent and has some very good placed form to his name, including at Cheltenham.  Kieron Edgar is on board and takes a handy 3lbs off his back.  He certainly deserves to win a race.

This afternoon there are four meetings taking place with flat cards at Nottingham and Kempton as well as a couple of jumps fixtures from Warwick and Chepstow.  David has two runners at Warwick; Drumlee Lad and For 'N' Against, while Ballywilliam, Pilgrims Bay and The Draconian run at Chepstow.  For 'N' Against has been very consistent this term and competes here from a mark of 115 which is 5lbs lower than his hurdle rating - his jockey Kieron Edgar takes a handy 3lbs off his back and another big run is anticipated.  Over at Chepstow, Ballywilliam (pictured above) was an impressive bumper winner at the Welsh track last term on soft ground.  He performed poorly on his seasonal debut at Perth over three miles and takes a big drop in distance today - he is clearly better than that and at odds of around 10/1 looks interesting while Pilgrims Bay has the latent ability to go well in the same race if he chooses to put his best foot forward. The Draconian makes his racecourse debut today and I will be interested to see how he gets on, he will certainly learn plenty for the experience.

There are four fixtures this afternoon with three flat cards from Redcar, Southwell and Wolverhampton and a very good jumps card from Exeter which features their highlight of the season, The Haldon Gold Cup.  The big race has just six runners which is a little disappointing considering the prize money on offer but they have won 51 races between them so there is no shortage of quality.  It should certainly make for interesting viewing.  The stable has no runners this afternoon after Champers On Ice was taken out of the opening novices' hurdle.
