We have another day of jumps action up at Perth this afternoon following some good racing there yesterday. Sean Bowen rode a double but Gordon Elliott was not on the score sheet, today they combine forces and I would be surprised if they did not have two winners, but definitely one together! In Ireland, there is another day of jumping on day five of the Listowel Festival and it is another card filled with big fields and competitive races. Willie Mullins won the Kerry National yesterday, not with the favourite who fell but Spanish Harlem claimed he honours under Danny Mullins. There are three flat meetings today in Britain at Newmarket, Pontefract and Newcastle.

There is jumps racing up at Perth today and jockey Sean Bowen and trainer Gordon Elliott could be people to follow, quite often they combine to win at Perth but not today though both look to have very good chances of winners separately. There are three flat meetings today at Goodwood, Redcar and Kempton. In Ireland, we have day four of the Listowel Festival and it is back to action over jumps.

There is just one jumps meeting again today, at Warwick and the stable does not have any runners. There are three meetings on the flat at Beverley, Lingfield and Southwell while in Ireland we have day three of the Listowel Festival which is another all flat card.

We start the new week with one jumps meeting today at Fontwell and three flat cards at Leicester, Hamilton and Wolverhampton. In Ireland, we have day two of he Listowel Festival and also a flat fixture at Fairyhouse. The stable does not have any runners. Jack Tudor has one ride at Fontwell this afternoon and I thought he looks to have a good chance of riding a winner. Faded Fantasy is one of three runners for trainer Christian Williams in the race which looks very competitive but, Jack's horse has been in great form of late over hurdles and returns to the larger obstacles off a 12 pound lower mark and should have a good chance.

Today there is a jumps meeting at Plumpton and two flat cards at Southwell and Hamilton. In Ireland we have the first day of the Listowel Festival and this is always a great week of flat and jumps action. The stable does not have any runners. The going at Plumpton is still good to firm, highlighting the need for more rain at racecourses where they have not raced during the summer and been watering. They still have plenty of runners however so come interesting racing to watch.

Best Night Winner Newton Abbot
Best Night made it the best day for us all yesterday! She won the mare’s novices hurdle at Newton abbot under Jack Tudor. I hope you all listened to my each way advice! She was making her hurdling debut in the David Pipe Racing Club colours having shown some fair flat form in France. She went off at big odds in a competitive looking race but she did it very nicely in the end.

Best Nights runs at Newton Abbot Today
We have two runners at Newton Abbot this afternoon, Best Night and Saccary. Best Night is making her hurdling and stable debut in the 3.13pm mares novices hurdle and Jack Tudor rides. She has some good placed form on the flat in France up to 1m6f on varying ground and she has taken to jumping well. She shows a great attitude at home and it will be interesting to see how she gets on. This looks a competitive race and we are 16/1 in the betting so I think she has good each way value. She carries the colours of the David Pipe racing club and lots of members will be there cheering her on so hopefully she can put on a bold show.
