There are six meetings taking place this afternoon with all of the fixtures on the level.  The action comes from Royal Ascot, Ayr, Haydock, Lingfield, Newmarket and Redcar.  It is the final day of the Royal meeting today and it has been a fantastic week - the big race today is the Group One Diamond Jubilee Stakes at 4.20pm.  It is a nineteen runner sprint over 6 furlongs and has £600,000 up for grabs, but the race that I really like today is the Queen Alexandra Stakes run over almost 2m6f - there are a few future jumpers among the field and it will be interesting to see if Thomas Hobson, who was a winner at the meeting is turned out again, especially as Ryan Moore has been claimed by Aidan O'Brien for US Army Ranger.

There are six meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from Royal Ascot, Redcar, Ayr, Newmarket and Bath, while there is also a jumps card from Market Rasen.  There are no runners from the Pond House team today although stable jockey Tom Scudamore has picked up one ride at Market Rasen - it's in the last so it looks like being another late night for Tom.  There is another cracking day's action ahead of us at Royal Ascot with two Group 1's on the card and there are a couple of short-priced favourites in Caravaggio and Winter - Winter seems a little ironic given that we are experiencing one of the hottest June's in recent history.

There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with flat fixtures from Royal Ascot, Chelmsford City, Lingfield and Ripon as well as a jumps card from Ffos Las.  David has one runner this evening as Bambi du Noyer (pictured above) contests the 2m4f handicap hurdle from Ffos Las at 8.40pm.  Our gelding finished a good second on this track last time out and was only narrowly beaten.  He has posted three solid efforts since joining the Pond House team and certainly deserves to get his head in front.  A similar run to last time would give him an excellent chance under Tom Scudamore.

There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with four flat cards from Royal Ascot, Hamilton, Chelmsford City and Ripon as well as a jumps card from Uttoxeter.  Day two looks like another cracking card from the Royal meeting, although likely favourite Laugh Aloud is an early defection from the Duke of Cambridge which is a shame.  It was a good day for Godolphin yesterday as they landed three winners including the big one with Barney Roy as well as a 1-2 in the final race.  There was also another magnificent performance from American wonder filly Lady Aurelia in the King's Stand - it is a great shame that Frankie Dettori will not be riding at the meeting and I bet seeing her scorch to victory has made his arm feel ten times worse.

There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from Royal Ascot, Thirsk, Beverley and Brighton, while there is a jumps card from Stratford.  The prize money at Ascot this afternoon is £1,795,000 for their six races, while over at Brighton they offer £32,000 for their seven race fixture...I know it is perhaps unfair to compare prize money with the Royal meeting but it does just highlight the problem with prize money at the basement level.  David has one runner at Royal Ascot today as Iniciar (pictured above) is top weight for the twenty runner Ascot Stakes - a race that he won in 2010.  Iniciar had some good form on the continent in 2014 at around 1m4f but this looks a big ask; Dougie Costello is in the saddle.  Meanwhile, Juste Pour Nous contests the 2m handicap hurdle at Stratford at 4.05pm - he has shaped with promise when finishing third on both of his outings over timber to date, although a mark of 111 seems high enough.  Place claims again under Tom Scu.

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon and they are all on the level with the action coming from Carlisle, Wetherby, Windsor and Nottingham.  There are no runners from Pond House today, although we will have a runner at Royal Ascot tomorrow when Iniciar will contest the Ascot Stakes.  Talking of Royal Ascot it is looking like the Ryan Moore and Aidan O'Brien show - Moore is 1/3 to be top jockey while O'Brien is a 1/4 shot to be top trainer.  You are not going to get rich, even if you double them up.  It looks like the only conceivable challenge will come from the John Gosden team - he was top trainer at the meeting in 2012 and he looks to have a better squad than then, although he will need to have.

Another victory for race planning (or not as the case may be)!  There are just two flat meetings taking place this afternoon with the action from Doncaster and Salisbury.  You would have thought that they could have put a couple of yesterday's fixtures (there were seven) on today to balance things out a bit...or maybe even have slotted in a jumps meeting or two.  At least Salisbury have some decent racing with a Listed contest scheduled for 3.45pm.  It looks as though everything is building towards the Royal meeting from Ascot which starts on Tuesday.  It looks as though David will have a runner in the Ascot Stakes, a race he won in the past with Junior.
