There are seven meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from Haydock, Newmarket, Chester, Beverley, Catterick and Chepstow while there is also a lovely jumps card from Stratford.  David has one runner today as Tobacco Road contests the 1m2f flat handicap at Chester at 5.30pm.  He ran a cracker last time out under today's jockey Tom Marquand when narrowly touched off at Chelmsford City and he should go well again from only a 2lbs higher mark.  The big negative is that he is drawn widest of all in stall 12 and even over these intermediate trips, the draw is important at Chester.  Hopefully he will break well and be able to secure a good position - if he does that he would not be without a chance.  Meanwhile, over at Stratford Pond House jockey David Noonan looks to have picked up a nice outside ride so it would be good if he were among the winners.

There is a bumper day of action ahead with no less than six meetings taking place including flat fixtures from Brighton, Carlisle, Goodwood, Haydock and Wolverhampton while there is also a jumps card from Stratford, although this is a hunter chase meeting.  We have had two days of torrential rain down here in the west country and if that has been replicated throughout the rest of the country, keep an eye on the going as it is bound to have eased considerably.  Talking of the hunter chase fixture, I still cannot believe that they allow professional trainers to compete in these events - where else do you hear of professionals taking on amateurs on a level playing field?

There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from Ripon, Haydock, Sandown and Carlisle as well as a jumps card from Bangor.  David has two runners this afternoon; Vincent's Forever and Arkadios.  Vincent's Forever (pictured above) contests the 3.20pm at Bangor, a 2m3 1/2f handicap hurdle - he was decent on the flat and put up his best performance over hurdles to date last time when third at Taunton.  He wouldn't need to improve a great deal on that to figure here under Tom Scu.  Arkadios runs in the 2m7f handicap hurdle at 4.20pm.  He was in the process of running a cracker at Newton Abbot last time out until making bad mistakes at the final two flights.  He steps up in trip today but that could help him and he has the ability to go well in a race of this nature under regular rider Michael Heard.

There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from Hamilton, Wolverhampton, Kempton and Ripon as well as a jumps fixture from Wolverhampton.  Although there are no runners from the stable today Pond House jockey David Noonan has picked up a couple of spare rides.  Looking through the card he would be doing well to add to his winner from Monday evening.

There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from Wetherby, Chepstow and Yarmouth while there are jumps fixtures from Southwell and Fontwell.  David has one runner today as Work contests the 5.50pm race at Fontwell, a conditional jockeys' mares' handicap hurdle over 2m5 1/2f.  The filly won a couple of times on the flat at distances of around two miles and could yet improve over timber.  David Noonan is able to ride in this race and claims a useful 3lbs off her back and she could go well.

There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with flat action from Leicester, Thirsk, Windsor and Ayr while there is jumps action from one of our local tracks, Newton Abbot.  David runs French import Magie du Ma in the 3.10pm race, a 2m2 1/2f handicap hurdle.  She was one of the best juvenile fillies in France, winning twice and ran with credit in the Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.  With the weekend rain, the ground is easing quite a lot which should suit her and Tom Scudamore is in the saddle.  Meanwhile Tom and David Noonan have picked up some decent looking outside rides so hopefully they will be among the winners.

There are just two meetings today and they are both jumps cards at Fakenham and Perth.  David does not have any runners but Tom Scu has a couple of rides at Fakenham.  The best of these looks to be Eyes of a Tiger who was a winner last time out.  There is good prize money on offer and it is a shame with £13,000 it looks like there will only be three runners.  I keep moaning about prize money so it is a real shame that when tracks but a decent prize up for grabs that it is not well supported.
