There is a busy day of action ahead with no less than seven meetings taking place.  There is flat action from Newbury, Newmarket, Ripon, Haydock and Lingfield, and yes, two jumps cards from Market Rasen and Cartmel.  Lingfield once again are offering just £30,000 across their seven race card - I'm sorry, but for a Saturday that is just downright poor.  Stable jockey Tom Scudamore has picked up a couple of outside rides at Market Rasen and they look as though they have it to do, while Conor O'Farrell has one ride at Cartmel, although I don't think I will be testing the 'one ride theory' today.

I'm afraid you are out of luck if you are a fan of the jumps again today.  There are six meetings taking place but they are all on the level with the action coming from Newbury, Haydock, Nottingham, Hamilton, Newmarket and Pontefract.  With a dearth of jumps fixtures, it is unsurprising that there are no runners from Pond House today.  Let's hope there is no controversy at any of the meetings like there was yesterday at Killarney.  The stewards there took the remarkable decision to void the race 20 minutes after it had finished...lots of bookmakers on and off course had already paid out.

There are five meetings taking place this afternoon and it is another day without any jump racing.  For those of you who are fans of the flat, the action comes from Hamilton, Leicester, Chepstow, Doncaster and Epsom.  Unsurprisingly, there are no runners from Pond House today.  Talking of the flat, I see that former lady jockey Hayley Turner rode another winner at Yarmouth last night.  I must have it wrong...I thought she had retired?!  Anyway, the horse she was successful upon, Hart Stopper looks really progressive and should be followed.  I am guessing that Hayley has seen how much the BBC presenters get paid and doesn't like what she sees!  How on earth can Chris Evans be getting £2.2 million?  Anyway, I digress...

There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from Catterick, Lingfield, Yarmouth and Sandown as well as a jumps card from Uttoxeter.  We will name and shame Lingfield today as they are offering the sum total of £30,000 in prize money across their seven race card - I wonder which course will dare to go under £30k?  Perhaps the bookmakers should run a book on it!  Anyway, I'm off on one again...David has one runner today as Lady Of Longstone (pictured above) contests the 2m7 1/2f handicap hurdle at Uttoxeter at 3.35pm.  She has to carry top weight of 11-12 less Michael Heard's 5lbs claim.  She ran a good race last week when a close third and is well-treated from a mark of 115 based on the best of her form and she looks to have decent claims this afternoon.

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from Beverley, Bath and Thirsk as well as a jumps card from Worcester.  David, fresh back from his holidays has two runners tonight at Worcester.  Nice Thoughts contests the 2m4f selling handicap hurdle at 7.30pm and on the best of his form he would have a great chance.  You are taking a bit of a chance with him however as his recent form has been disappointing.  Michael Heard takes the mount and claims a handy 5lbs off his back.  Purple 'N Gold is the other stable runner tonight and he reverts to hurdles for the 8.30pm race - a handicap over two miles.  He has won over fences from a mark of 130 so he looks well-treated from 117, although he is clearly a better chaser than hurdler.  Michael Heard is in the saddle and he has each way claims at prices around 10/1.

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with all of the action once again coming on the flat from Ayr, Ffos Las, Windsor and Wolverhampton on the all-weather.  Juste Pour Nous finished third yesterday at Southwell - he does have the ability to win races over timber.  Meanwhile stable jockey Tom Scudamore made the long trip north to Perth worthwhile when he rode four winners - it was the first four timer of his career and at least it would have paid for his petrol so well done to him.  The eight hour trip to Perth would not have seemed anything like as bad on the way back - well done indeed!

There are three meetings taking place this afternoon and they are all over the sticks...go figure!  There were six flat meetings yesterday...why can't race planning mix things up a little better?  David has two runners today with Juste Pour Nous at Southwell and Father Edward at Stratford.  Juste Pour Nous has some fair placed form over timber to his name and a reproduction of that would give him every chance in this selling hurdle and David Noonan is in the saddle.  Over at Stratford, Father Edward (pictured above) has to carry top weight of 11-12 (less Michael Heard's claim) in the 2m6 1/2f handicap chase.  It is a competitive race (as it should be for £20,000) and he would need to improve on his more recent outings to figure - it does make me wonder why he has to shoulder such a burden.
