The bad news is that following 31mm of rain overnight, Exeter have taken the sensible step of abandoning their meeting this afternoon.  The good news is that (somewhat against the odds) Towcester have been given the go ahead to race today meaning that we do at least have some jump racing to look forward to, as well as two all-weather flat cards at Lingfield and Kempton.  Consequently we only have one runner over the sticks, Shaking Hands (pictured above) who will now be partnered by Tom Scudamore instead of Tom Bellamy - fortunately Shaking Hands is a doughty stayer and they will need to be this afternoon...Towcester is a really testing track and the ground is going to be very heavy - stamina really will be at a premium today.  We also have a rare runner on the all-weather at Kempton this evening as Purple 'N Gold makes his debut for the yard in the 1m4f handicap under Simon Pearce.

Today there are four meetings taking place with two fixtures over jumps at Newbury and Ludlow as well as a couple of all-weather flat cards Lingfield and Kempton.  It looks like a good quality competitive card at Newbury for this mid-week meeting and the stable is represented by one runner at the Berkshire track this afternoon, Leader Of The Gang who makes his debut for the yard in the maiden hurdle and will be partnered by Tom Scudamore.

It was a real Welsh day at Ffos Las yesterday, with only one English trained winner on the entire card.  That sole success came courtesy of David's Vieux Lion Rouge in the concluding bumper, although it's not exactly a good old fashioned English name!  The three year old clearly relished the testing conditions and came further and further clear in the straight to score by an impressive fourteen lengths on his racecourse debut and he looks like yet another promising bumper horse that David has to work with.

It was a good weekend for the yard with another couple of winners at Lingfield to add to the tally.  Conor O'Farrell produced a couple of excellent rides to score aboard Take Over Sivola (pictured above) and Tanerko Emery to score with a bit in hand.  Tanerko Emery looks to be a very bright prospect after following-up last week's success under topweight of 12-2 in testing conditions.  Meanwhile we had a number of other runners that performed creditably including His Excellency who was only just run out of it close home at Cheltenham - he was trying to give 8lbs to the winner Shooters Hill so this was clearly a very good effort under champion jockey A P McCoy.

Well, hopefully today there will be three jumps meetings taking place at Carlisle, Musselburgh and Hereford.  The weather forecast doesn't look too bad so we should be in for a good day of action.  The stable has runners at Carlisle and Hereford.  Poole Master (pictured above) and Kusadasi make the long trek up north where they will be partnered by stable jockey Tom Scudamore, while Conor O'Farrell takes the ride aboard Franklin Roosevelt, Hugo Drax and E Street Boy at Hereford.

It was another good day for the yard yesterday with success in the Grade 3 feature chase with Master Overseer who produced a typically gutsy performance under a never-say-die ride from Tom Scudamore.  They did look like they were going in slow motion towards the finish but Master Overseer (known affectionately as Mo) is a resolute galloper, so long as stamina is at a premium, he can slog it out with the best of them.  Meanwhile young conditional jockey Francis Hayes must have been responsible for recovery of the day following his last flight blunder aboard Dan Breen - both of Frank's legs were on the same side of the horse!  He was quickly back in place and rode him out to finish a fine third although he may well have finished second without that error.

Today there are four meetings, two of them over the sticks at Cheltenham and Bangor (inspecting at 8am) while there are another two meetings on the all-weather at Wolverhampton and Lingfield.  The stable has two runners at the headquarters of British jump racing this afternoon - Dan Breen and Master Overseer.  Dan Breen still looks feasibly rated despite being 3lbs higher than when third at Ascot last time - the winner, Petit Robin has won a Listed hurdle since so hopefully he can go close in the hands of 10lbs conditional jockey Frank Hayes.
