Only six more days until the Cheltenham Festival and we have a nice picture of some of our hopefuls to bring you. Above is (front to back) The Liquidator, Knight Of Noir and Legacy Gold as they paraded around the yard on Saturday for The Morning Line. There are three meetings taking place this afternoon - a jumps card at Catterick as well as two all-weather flat meetings at Lingfield and Kempton. I would suspect that plenty of the all-weather nuts will be attending both meetings, although they will probably have to miss the last at Lingfield to do it...what a dilemma! The stable has no runners this afternoon.

There are three meetings to look forward to this afternoon - two over the sticks at Exeter and Newcastle as well as an all-weather flat card at Southwell. The stable has four runners at our local track, Exeter - they are Massannie, Party Girls, Alderluck and Milor de la Borie. I see that Massannie is forecast to go off at odds-on and with her latest second being franked by subsequent Grade Two winner Toubeera she would be the one to beat. However, she hasn't looked entirely straight forward at the start and I think she would prefer better ground. Having said that, she won a bumper on soft ground at Ffos Las and was runner-up on heavy at Plumpton - why on earth am I even talking about the ground?!

*Weather Babe - Non Runner 4.05pm Southwell*
There are three meetings taking place this afternoon - a jumps card at Southwell and two all-weather flat meetings at Lingfield and Kempton. We were due to run Weather Babe at Southwell but after 8mm of unforecast rain overnight the ground has now become unsuitably soft for her so she will not be taking her chance. Tom Scudamore is left with one ride at the track for his brother Michael, hopefully it will not be a fruitless journey for him. Our next runners will likely come at Exeter tomorrow where it is Devon National day - Alderluck (pictured above) will probably represent us in that marathon contest.

There are two jumps meetings taking place this afternoon at Huntingdon and Sedgefield. The stable has three runners at Huntingdon - Saint John Henry, Thomas Junior and Piccadilly Circus. Saint John Henry (pictured above, left) and Piccadilly Circus are well related geldings who are both making their racecourse debuts today, while I thought that Thomas Junior had a chance based on his solid form in three starts this season. Tom Scudamore takes the ride aboard all of our runners this afternoon.

There's a real buzz in the yard this morning as Channel 4 Racing are filming live from the stable. They will be featuring interviews from David and Martin and they take a look at some of the Cheltenham hopefuls as they complete their preparation. As you can see from the picture above there are plenty of people in the Channel 4 team (and that is before you get to the technical guys in the live broadcast vans) - it is amazing how many people it takes to bring a live feed to your television set.

The stable was on the mark yet again yesterday courtesy of The Darling Boy in the closing 2m3f handicap hurdle. Making all under Tom Scudamore, he held on well when challenged by Join The Navy by a head - the runner-up was ridden by our conditional jockey Kieron Edgar. I wonder what Tom would have said to Kieron if he had beaten our runner?...I don't suppose I would be able to print it here! Our other runners also performed creditably with Great Choice and Smiles For Miles both finishing third - Great Choice looks as though he will benefit from a step up in trip.

The good form of the stable continued yesterday when Vif Argent was successful in the 2m5f handicap chase at Wincanton under Tom Scudamore. It was good to see him recapture some of the form that he had shown in France. The first time blinkers and drop in grade certainly seemed to do the trick as he came readily clear in the closing stages.
