Today we have three runners at three different meetings and while the lorries heading to Uttoxeter and Lingfield were well on their journey early this morning, it will be a much later start for the lorry to Taunton which is of course much closer to home.  Bashful Boy is our runner at Taunton and it is great they are back racing after losing their intended first fixture of the season as the ground was too firm.  It still will be on the quicker side of good today but it is safe and this is the type of ground that Bashful Boy loves.  He runs in the 2.50pm handicap hurdle over 2m3f and Harry Cobden rides.  This will be his first run over hurdles for over a year but he has been running well on the flat all summer, without winning but he has been contesting some tough races.  He once again ran better than the bare result suggests in the Cesarewitch at Newmarket last time and he retains all of his enthusiasm.  He carries top weight in the race today and is handicapped to go well if he enjoys his return to hurdling.  He has a good man on top and I think he can put up a bold show if he wants to!

It is a very chilly start to the day here at Pond House with temperatures at -3c, a bit colder than I think we were forecast but there are no reported problems at either of today's two jumps meetings at Market Rasen and Wetherby.  I do find it a little strange with race planning that both jumps meeting today are in the North, and the tracks cannot be a million miles from each other!  There are three all-weather flat meetings at Southwell, Chelmsford and Newcastle while in Ireland there is an all-weather card at Dundalk.  The stable does not have any runners today.

Today we head to Hereford with two runners and we are aiming to bookend the card with a runner in the first and a runner in the last races!  Harley's Pride makes her hurdling debut in the 12.15pm novices hurdle over 2m3f and Jack Tudor rides.  Our five year old finished fourth in a bumper in Ireland and then sixth for us at Southwell on her only start last season.  She stayed on strongly to the line that day after initially getting outpaced and jockey Martin McIntyre had trouble pulling her up!  Today looks a good starting point and while she may want further in time she has schooled well at home and it will be good to get her on the track.  There is a couple of useful looking rivals in opposition today so it will be tough but it wouldn't be a total surprise if she could sneak into a place.

It is a busy jumps racing Monday with three meetings across the country at Kempton, Ludlow and Sedgefield.  We have one runner, Parchment who runs in the opening race at Kempton, the 12.25pm juvenile hurdle and Jack Tudor rides.  We are a short priced favourite for this race and even though he carries a penalty I think he can win.  He is a horse we hold in high regard and it is good to get him started over here.  He arrived over at Pond House earlier in the summer having won his only start in France over hurdles easily.  We turned him away for a holiday and this is his first outing in Britain.  He has an engine and a likeable attitude and while there are a couple of useful flat recruits in opposition today I hope he can put his hurdling experience to good use and show us all what he can do.

      No Walkover Winner at Chepstow

It was a fantastic across the card double for the team yesterday with Neon Moon winning at Ascot and No Walkover winning at Chepstow.  It was nearly a treble with Turenne just losing out in a photo finish up at Catterick and Vision De Maine also ran well to be third.

Vision De Maine Runs at Ascot Today

Today we have four runners spread across three different meetings providing the weather does not get in the way!  There are no problems at either Ascot or Catterick where we will be represented by Turenne, Neon Moon and Vision De Maine.  Chepstow must pass an 9am inspection (put back from 8am) because of the threat of frost and fingers crossed it does and we have No Walkover running the lucky last, the bumper.
