There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with action coming from Leicester and Wetherby over the sticks while there is an all-weather flat card from Southwell. So long as they pass their early morning inspections David will have runners at both jumps cards. Stable jockey Tom Scudamore travels to Wetherby for the ride aboard Mr Big Shot in the National Hunt novices' hurdle. Our six year old was an impressive winner of a soft ground Uttoxeter bumper on his only start to date - he has schooled well at home and a big run is expected. La Vaticane runs in the 2.20pm race at Leicester, a Listed mares' chase - she was a good winner at Doncaster last time and looks to have the Paul Nicholls runner Tagrita to beat. David Noonan takes the ride.

There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Newcastle and Bangor as well as an all-weather flat card from Wolverhampton. David has one runner this afternoon and unusually that comes on the flat as Perspicace takes in the 1m6f handicap at 4.00pm. He has top weight to carry but has some fair placed form to his name on the level and is not without a chance in a trappy little race under Dougie Costello. Meanwhile stable jockey Tom Scudamore and conditional David Noonan have both picked up spare rides at Bangor - Tom looks to have decent prospects aboard his brother's Dinsdale in the 2.00pm race.

There are two jumps cards from Fontwell and Hereford this afternoon, but first they both have to survive early morning inspections. Should they get the go-ahead David will have two runners at Hereford; Max Do Brazil and Timeforben. Recent purchase Max Do Brazil makes his Pond House debut in the handicap hurdle at 2.50pm having shown some smart form in France. The £9,000 prize money has attracted a decent field but he still looks to have a very good chance in the hands of Tom Scudamore. Meanwhile, Timeforben goes in the mares' bumper at 4.20pm and David Noonan takes the ride - she has won her only start in a point-to-point and there are winners to have come out of that race so hopefully she too has sound claims. Let's hope the action goes ahead!

***Update – Taunton Abandoned***
The stable enjoyed a nice winner at Chepstow yesterday afternoon when Shaama Grise ran out a very impressive winner of the mares' handicap hurdle under Tom Scudamore. The further she went, the better she seemed to go and readily went one better than on her debut at the track twelve days earlier. She looks to be on an upward curve and can go on to better things. This was a qualifier for the Mares' Challenger Series, the final of which David won with Lady Of Longstone last season.

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with jumping from Chepstow and Musselburgh supported by two all-weather flat fixtures from Lingfield and Wolverhampton. David has one runner at Chepstow this afternoon as recent course runner-up Shaama Grise (pictured above) bids to go one better. She runs from the same handicap mark of 114 but is due to go up by 5lbs in future races so looks a worthy favourite. She ought to win in the hands of Tom Scudamore.

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Wincanton and Ludlow while there is all-weather flat action from Southwell and Chelmsford. David has one runner at each jumps card with Abracadbra Sivola contesting the staying handicap chase at 3.20pm and Gone Too Far in the three mile handicap chase at Ludlow at 3.35pm. Abracadabra Sivola's successes have both won on heavy ground so he clearly appreciates a test and could improve for this trip - Tom Scudamore is in the saddle. Gone Too Far is partnered by amateur jockey Mr Rex Dingle and his claim takes his weight down to 11-0. He looks as though he could do with a bit of help from the handicapper.

It was a good day for the stable yesterday with an across the card double at opposite ends of the country courtesy of Mr Clarkson at Exeter and Starchitect (pictured above) at Ayr (yes, Ayr is technically in another country!). Mr Clarkson (pictured with delighted connections below) displayed a good attitude to stay on determinedly to land his first start over hurdles having won a bumper on the track last time. Runner-up to Finian's Oscar in an Irish point-to-point, he will stay further and could defy a penalty. He has certainly already given David's new syndicate members 'Pipe's Prospectors' a great deal of enjoyment. Meanwhile Starchitect managed to get off the mark over fences at Ayr with a classy performance. He did no more than he was entitled to on official figures, but it was good to see him run out a cosy winner nonetheless...Tom Scudamore will ride few easier winners all season. This will have done Starchitect's confidence no harm whatsoever and he can go on to better things.
