There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Taunton and Hereford while there are a couple of all-weather flat fixtures from Kempton and Newcastle. David has three runners at Taunton today; Stay Out Of Court, Tobacco Road and Carqalin. Stay Out Of Court runs in the three mile maiden hurdle at 1.05pm - he was second on heavy ground at Ffos Las last time, while he was also runner-up in an Irish point-to-point so he should stay this trip. A similar level of form to his last start will give him every chance under Tom Scudamore. Tobacco Road was unseated last time but has some decent placed form including when runner-up at Towcester - a repeat of that would see him go close. Carqalin has shown flashes of ability although he looks as though he could still do with some help from the handicapper whose initial assessment was too high.

Monetaire leads the String
Today we have three meetings, flat cards at Southwell and Wolverhampton plus a jumps card at Lingfield. There is £30,000 on offer in prize money at Lingfield for the seven races, how long will it be before it drops to £20,000?! The ground at Lingfield is soft/heavy and when it is heavy there they always walk from the last. If you are thinking of having a bet today just make sure your selection acts on the ground and more importantly stays.

Today there are three meetings, two flat cards at Wolverhampton and Lingfield plus a jumps card at Doncaster. I always thought Doncaster was a good course, how do they get away with £31,000 in prize money or all the races today? David does not have any runners today. I watched a bit of the racing from Chepstow yesterday, not that you could see a lot with the fog! Shaama Grise ran a good race to finish second, she was only beaten a length and she was giving away 16 pounds to the winner. She should come on a bit for the run and the front pair pulled 22 lengths clear of the third horse. Taws also ran well on her hurdling/yard debut to finish fourth at Fontwell. It was her first start for well over a year and she will probably appreciate a slightly longer trip in time.

This afternoon there are fixtures from Chepstow and Fontwell and David has runners at both cards. Shaama Grise and Poisoned Berry represent the Pond House team at Chepstow, while Taws runs at Fontwell. Shaama Grise runs at 3.00pm in an eight runner mares' handicap hurdle - she had some decent form in France and looks to have solid claims although this could be a trappy little contest with several winners in the line-up. Poisoned Berry (pictured above) runs in a very competitive handicap hurdle at 4.00pm - she has won twice this season and consequently has plenty of weight to carry. Greyed A looks to be the one we have to beat.

There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps action from Sandown, Newcastle and Wincanton supported by a couple of all-weather flat fixtures from Wolverhampton and Lingfield. David has runners at all three of the jumps meetings with Celestial Path and Dynaste doing duty at Sandown, Port Navas representing the stable at Wincanton and Batavir running at Newcastle. Celestial Path is faced with a big task on his hurdles debut as he goes in the Tolworth, a Grade One contest at 2.25pm. He was a very good flat horse who finished third in a Racing Post Trophy and fifth in the 2,000 Guineas - he is likely to be around the 16/1 mark today and that tells you what a strong race it is. Capitaine looks to be the one to beat. Meanwhile Dynaste (pictured above) is favourite for the valuable Veteran's Chase Final at 3.00pm. If he can recapture any of his better form he should win, although his effort at Kelso last time was disappointing. Tom Scudamore returns to race riding today and is aboard the pair.

Following the abandonment of Ludlow due to frost we are left with three meetings to look forward to this afternoon. Fortunately Wetherby has passed an early morning inspection and they host a jumps card which is supported by a couple of all-weather flat fixtures from Kempton and Wolverhampton. David has one runner this afternoon; What A Moment who is forecast favourite for the three mile novices' limited handicap chase at 1.35pm. He won at Cheltenham's Open Meeting in November on his penultimate start and a reproduction of that effort would see him go close. David Noonan is in the saddle and takes a handy 3lbs off his back.

***Update***
Meeting at Lingfield Abandoned
There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with Lingfield's jumps card supported by three all-weather flat meetings from Wolverhmampton, Southwell and Chelmsford. Lingfield need to pass an 8am inspection after temperatures dropped as low as -5°c overnight - that does not augur well. Should the fixture get the go-ahead David runs Poisoned Berry in the 3.20pm race - a 2m7f mares' handicap hurdle. Our five year old has to shoulder top weight of 11-12 less conditional jockey David Noonan's 3lbs claim - I don't think the handicapper has done her too many favours with a mark of 114, so let's hope that she is capable of reproducing her Exeter form where she bolted up by 11 lengths.
