Kings Palace - runs in the Paddy Power
We have five meetings today, jumps cards at Cheltenham, Uttoxeter and Wetherby plus flat cards at Lingfield and Wolverhampton. David has plenty running at Cheltenham, 8 runners in fact! The card looks more like the Festival its that good! In the first race, the 12.40pm we run another French recruit called Fingertips. He won first time out in France and then finished second and he goes well at home. Although only five runners it is a quality field. In the 1.15pm novice chase, Un temps Pour Tout makes his chasing debut. He has schooled well at home and this is his first outing since winning the French Champion hurdle at Auteuil in the summer. We are hoping for a big run.

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps action from Cheltenham and Hexham and all-weather flat meetings from Lingfield and Wolverhampton. Cheltenham is the undisputed home of National Hunt racing and there is no better place to have a winner - David has plenty of chances today with his five runners. In the first he runs La Vaticane and our mare had some very good form in France before finishing a creditable second on her British debut last season. All of her wins have come on soft or heavy ground so she handle underfoot conditions and David looks to have found a valuable race that she can win.

This afternoon we have four meetings with jumps fixtures from Ludlow and Taunton as well as a couple of all-weather flat cards from Southwell and Chelmsford City. David has three runners at Taunton today; Iniciar, Perspicace and Border Breaker. Iniciar boasted some very useful form on the flat in France with an official mark of 100 - he was only narrowly beaten in Listed company last season - he has schooled well at home and this should be an interesting contest with the likes of Champion bumper runner-up Modus in opposition. Perspicace has won on this track and the drop back in trip looks as though it could help, while Border Breaker (pictured above), a course winner who has won three times also looks as though this slightly shorter trip will suit.

The stable enjoyed a nice winner yesterday when Spending Time came home the decisive winner of the three mile novices' handicap chase at Huntingdon. He jumped well and handled the ground under a sensible ride from Conor O'Farrell. He hasn't been the easiest of horses to train and David has done well to win a couple of races with him, although judged on this success he can win again when stamina is at a premium. Balgarry was third on his first start over fences and he looked like a really exciting ride - making all at a brisk pace and fairly winging most of his fences. He looks capable of winning races over the larger obstacles.

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Huntingdon, Lingfield and Sedgefield while there is an all-weather flat fixture from Wolverhampton. David has three runners this afternoon at Huntingdon; Spending Time, Balgarry and Barneby. Spending Time (pictured above) won at Stratford from a mark of 95 and now goes from 104 so he will have to have improved again, although he will like the ground - the same comments apply to Balgarry who has to defy a mark of 135 on his chasing debut. Conor O'Farrell is aboard them both. Meanwhile, Barneby will be partnered by Kieron Edgar and he would have to improve on what he has shown thus far.

Saturday proved a good day for the yard with Houston Dynimo winning the handicap chase at Wincanton under a great ride from David Noonan, while Lady Of Longstone also ran well to finish runner-up in the mares' handicap hurdle from a career high mark. The pair of them earned close to £12,000 in prize money...just think how many cakes Sue can make with that much money! Bless her, she must have made nearly 200 cakes (pictured above) last week for the staff at Pond House and the staff were all over them like a plague of locusts and that was just Gail, Gemma and James in the office! No wonder Sue's horses are running so well, the staff are all carrying a bit of overweight up the gallops!

Today we have just two meetings, both over the sticks at Ffos Las and Sandown. The stable has one runner this afternoon as the improving Kalifourchon takes in the conditional jockeys' handicap hurdle at 12.45pm. Our four year old is on a firm upward curve having won three of his last four starts - Michael Heard takes the ride and claims a handy 6lbs off his back. The official going is currently being described as good/soft which should be fine. It is a great shame that the Future Stars Chase has only attracted four runners, but at least there is a quality field with Cheltenham Gold Cup hero Coneygree making his seasonal return. Coneygree is well clear on official figures, although with the first three in the market all having their first starts of the season, much will depend on who is the fittest.
