There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Lingfield and Southwell as well as an all-weather flat fixture from Wolverhampton. David runs Mozo and Bladoun at Lingfield. Mozo (pictured above) was the ready winner of a heavy ground bumper at Uttoxeter last season so should certainly appreciate underfoot conditions, while Bladoun still looks to be in the grip of the handicapper. He did win from a rating of 100 last term although he remains 12lbs above that mark today.

How much flour or pastry would you be able to buy with £18,766 prize money?! That is the dilemma facing lucky owners Gordon and Sue this morning after their admirable ten year old Houston Dynimo won at Leicester yesterday under man of the moment David Noonan. The jockey said that the low weight helped so not only is he an up and coming jockey, he can read as well! (P.S. being diabetic, not too much sugar in my cake thanks Sue!)

There are two meetings taking place this afternoon with action from Carlisle and Leicester. David has one runner at Leicester as recent Wincanton winner Houston Dynimo takes in the 2m6f veterans' chase at 2.00pm. Our spritely ten year old remains in good form and hardly ever runs a bad race. This season's leading amateur jockey David Noonan takes the ride and he claims a very handy 5lbs off his back.

The stable enjoyed a nice winner yesterday afternoon as Champers On Ice won the novices' hurdle at Newbury under Tom Scudamore. He will need to brush up his jumping a bit as he steps up in class but this was still a nice performance nevertheless with several promising types well beaten in behind and he looks like a most promising individual. One thing is for sure, I bet there wasn't much champers left after the race!

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with three jumps cards from Newbury, Doncaster and Musselburgh as well as an all-weather flat fixture from Wolverhampton. David runs Unique de Cotte, Gevrey Chambertin and Saint John Henry in the Pertemps Qualifier at 1.30pm, while Dell' Arca (pictured above) contests a Grade 1 novices' chase, Monetaire takes in a highly competitive handicap chase at 2.40pm, Champers On Ice bids to open his account over hurdles at 3.15pm and Pilgrims Bay goes in the lucky last. The Newbury card looks very competitive as you would expect with such good prize money on offer. Meanwhile Iniciar is David's only runner at Doncaster. He was a very smart horse on the flat in France and he was not at all discredited behind smart prospect Modus at Taunton on his hurdling debut. He will be ridden by Daryl Jacob - an eagle eyed reader noticed that I called him Daryl Holland the other day...that's how double Dutch I am!

Today there are four meetings taking place with jumps cards from Newbury and Taunton as well as a couple of all-weather flat fixtures from Southwell and Chelmsford City. David runs Junior Package, The Minkle and Navanman at Taunton while at Newbury he saddles Kalifourchon and Un Temps Pour Tout on the first day of Newbury's Hennessy meeting. The one with the most obvious chance would appear to be French Champion Hurdle winner Un Temps Pour Tout as he makes his second start over fences. It is a £19,000 race so obviously it is pretty competitive with some very nice prospects in opposition. He was second at Cheltenham on his first start over fences and was the highest rated of these over timber and with a clear round he is very much the one to beat.

This afternoon there are four meetings taking place with jumps cards at Wetherby and Fontwell as well as all-weather flat meetings from Lingfield and Kempton. David has one runner this afternoon as Willem contests the 1.10pm race at Fontwell, a 2m5 1/2f handicap hurdle. There may only be five runners but it is a tight little handicap with any one of the field in with a chance. Willem is on a mark of 125 and his sole win in France came on heavy ground so today's going (soft, heavy in places) should suit him well. He is yet to get his head in front in this country although he does have some solid placed form in decent company and he has decent claims under Tom Scudamore.
