There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from Carlisle, Salisbury, Kempton and Bath as well as a jumps fixture from Worcester. The stable runs Street Entertainer, Brenda de Ronceray and Street Entertainer at Worcester this afternoon. Street Entertainer, who has already twice been a winner over timber this season is odds-on favourite for the three runner novices' chase as he makes his debut over the larger obstacles. He was a fluent jumper over hurdles, so let's hope that he can translate that to fences. Brenda de Ronceray sees the racecourse for the first time today in what looks to be a competitive bumper and I am sure she will learn plenty from the experience. Our final runner, Weather Babe carries top weight of 11-12 in the 2m7f handicap hurdle and our home-bred mare has been running well this term - she drops back in trip but has already proven her effectiveness and should go well once again. Tom Scudamore is aboard all three of our runners.

This afternoon we have four meetings to look forward to with flat action from Brighton, Leicester and Beverley, while over the sticks Newton Abbot hold an evening meeting. The stable has three runners at Newton Abbot and my local track would be one of my favourites too - on a lovely sunny evening I can think of few places I would rather be. Purple 'N Gold and Willem compete in the handicap hurdle at 7.30pm, while Good Value contests the lady's race at 8.35pm. Purple 'N Gold (pictured above) seldom runs a bad race and should be thereabouts once again, while Willem has been essentially disappointing since arriving from France although he has shown glimpses of decent form. Good Value has finished runner-up on a couple of occasions this term and Alex Dunn will be hoping he can go one better in the concluding race.

The stable was among the winners at the weekend as Kalifourchon won his first race over timber when bolting up in the novices' handicap hurdle at Market Rasen by nine lengths from a mark of 97. Our four year old showed promise in bumpers and certainly settled a lot better yesterday. I wonder if David will turn him out again under a penalty? If so, he looks the type who could follow up. Border Breaker finished third on his first start over the larger obstacles, only tiring late on - he was twice a winner over shorter over hurdles and there are plenty of races in him over fences judged on this effort.

Border Breaker - Chasing Debut Today
Today there are three meetings, two jumps cards at Hexham and Worcester and a flat card at Pontefract. David has four runners at Worcester, Vieux Lion Rouge does not run after winning at Market Rasen on Friday. Border Breaker is having his first run over fences although he is a winning Irish pointer. Tom Scu rides and after a good second over hurdles last time out hopefully he should run well again. Flabello is ridden by David Noonan taking off a handy seven pounds. He is coming back from a break and does have to improve on recent efforts where a similar remark also applies to Kalifourchon who is partnered by Tom Scu. Vayland completes the Pond House line up in the final valuable handicap hurdle of the day. He was running a super race when falling at Newbury on his yard debut and things haven't quite gone to plan since. He has had a little break now and carries a lightweight of 10st 3lb so he could run okay.

Vieux Lion Rouge
Two from Two Over Fences
Vieux Lion Rouge won by 10 lengths at Market Rasen yesterday and looked different class to the opposition although it was all over by the first fence really with the second favourite playing up and losing valuable ground. He has now won both of his chases in good style so we may need to step him up in class. It was great yesterday as he proved his versatility ground wise. Previously he has done all his winning on softer ground but he proved to handle the quicker surface yesterday. Junior Package ran okay on his racecourse debut in the bumper to finish fourth. He is a lovely young horse from a great family and I am sure he has a great future in front of him. Today we have 6 meetings, no jumps but flat cards at Royal Ascot, Ayr, Newmarket, Redcar, Haydock and Lingfield. Great race planning again! There is a jumps card in Ireland at Gowran Park and I think their prize money beats four of our flat cards!

There is some great action this afternoon with five meetings from Royal Ascot, Redcar, Newmarket, Goodwood and a jumps card at Market Rasen. The stable runs exciting novice chaser Vieux Lion Rouge at Market Rasen and our six year old has to concede weight all round after his chase debut success at Towcester. There is not much strength in depth, although John Ferguson's Aalim was useful over timber and is clearly the biggest danger. We also run Junior Package in the bumper at 5.45pm - he is making his first ever start on the racecourse today and is the Racing Post's 13/8 favourite, largely due to breeding I would suggest. He works okay at home and we look to have two decent chances this afternoon - Tom Scudamore is aboard them both.

There are six meetings taking place this afternoon and the main fixture of the day is obviously the third day of the Royal meeting from Ascot. There are four other flat cards from Chelmsford City, Ripon, Leicester and Lingfield as well as a jumps meeting from Ffos Las. David has two runners at the Welsh track; Houston Dynimo and Western Diva. Houston Dynimo (pictured above) has run two sound races recently to finish fourth and looks as though this slight drop back in trip will suit him well. Tom Scudamore is aboard both of our runners today.
