There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with fixtures on the flat from Goodwood, Redcar and Kempton while there is a jumps card from Perth. David has one runner this afternoon at Perth with Mango Cap in the 4.40pm race, a three mile handicap hurdle. The Post forecast him the 5/1 second favourite which is surprising given he has not recaptured his smart French form as yet. He is up in trip and down in grade so hopefully that will help to bring about some improvement - stable jockey Tom Scudamore is in the saddle. Meanwhile champion jockey Richard Johnson looks to hold a good chance in the 4.05pm race aboard Western Home for Gordon Elliott.

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with three flat fixtures from Beverley, Lingfield and Ffos Las while there is a jumps card from Warwick. Typically the best card in terms of prize money is in Ireland where the Ballinrobe card has over £100,000 up for grabs. David has two runners at Warwick; Tobacco Road and For 'N' Against. Tobacco Road goes in the novices' hurdle for which he is around the 12/1 mark - he hasn't really translated his flat form to hurdles yet and would need to improve to figure on what he has shown thus far. Meanwhile, For 'N' Against has been in good form this term, winning twice and he reverts to hurdles for this 3m2f handicap from a slightly lower rating than his chase mark. He has sound place claims if he reverts his ability back to the smaller obstacles.

It was another good weekend for the stable with the success of Gabrial The Great at Uttoxeter yesterday. I thought that conditional jockey David Noonan gave our gelding an excellent ride - he can be a bit keen (the horse that is, rather than David!) and he did a great job of keeping him settled at the back of the field before coming with a well-timed run to score a shade cosily. Racing manager Jason Maguire was also on hand and he too thought the young pilot had done a good job.

This afternoon there are two jumps cards from Uttoxeter and Plumpton...I know I keep going on about it but it seems a little ridiculous that one of these two meetings didn't take place yesterday. Or maybe I am just missing something? David has runners at both cards today with Mr Burgees competing at Plumpton in the 3.00pm race. He makes his debut for the stable this afternoon and Tom Scudamore is in the saddle - he has some consistent form and hopefully the 'one ride rule' will work today! Meanwhile at Uttoxeter we run Nice Thoughts in the 2m4f handicap hurdle and Gabrial The Great (pictured above) in the 2m4f handicap chase and David Noonan takes the mount aboard the pair and he claims a useful 3lbs off their backs.

What an amazing performance from the versatile and tough Impulsive American to win on the level at Ayr yesterday. It was only six weeks ago that he was competing over hurdles and fences at Perth! He never seems to run a bad race under any code and probably wants better ground than this to boot. He was given a good ride by jockey Jim Crowley and it is easy to see why he is favourite to land this season's jockey's championship. The Racing Post are also complimentary in their write-up of the race and say that our four year old 'must be a pleasure to own', not like Celtic, hey Sean?!

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with two flat cards from Ayr and Newbury as well as two jumps cards from Hexham and Newton Abbot. Talk about casting your net far and wide, David has a runner at both Newton Abbot and Ayr. Amigo contests the 3m3f handicap chase at Newton Abbot at 4.05pm - he has the latent ability to go well in a contest of this nature but has been a bit disappointing of late. David leaves the tongue tie and blinkers off and if he were to return to his Kim Muir or Scottish National form he would have a big shout.

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with flat action coming from Ayr, Yarmouth, Pontefract and Chelmsford City. David has no runners today with our next racecourse representative coming tomorrow on the flat at Ayr as Impulsive American will contest the two mile handicap under championship leader Jim Crowley - he will make the long trip up today. Meanwhile, over in Ireland Tom Scu was out of luck yesterday in the Kerry National, although he finished a creditable third aboard Gas Line Boy and his percentage should cover his travel expenses.
