Shot Boii runs today!
Today we have two runners at Chepstow, Shot Boii and Lady Balko which Jack Tudor rides both.  Shot Boii runs in the 3.15pm handicap chase and tackles the extended 3m6f trip for the first time.  He has run consistently well all season and got a deserved success at Hereford four runs back.  The handicapper had his say and then probably has him about right which is while it has been more difficult for him.  He ran well enough at Carlisle last time and has always looked well worth trying a marathon trip.  There are just the six runners and we are about 9/2 third best in the betting.  He is a great character at home and is in good form – he has a naughty habit of dropping and rolling in the sand when his riders least expect it!  He did this the other day much to everyone’s amusement so hopefully that is a good sign ahead of today!

There are no runners for the team today but there is jumps racing at Haydock and Market Rasen. There is an all-weather flat fixture at Southwell while there is a blank day all round for racing in Ireland.  At the time of writing I see that Harry Cobden leads Sean Bowen in the jumps jockeys title race by thirteen winners and while Harry has no rides today, Sean looks to have three good chances.

        Only Fools wins at Fontwell!
It was fantastic to start the new week with a winner, thanks to Only Fools bolting up at Fontwell.  She is an admirably consistent mare and despite a rare below par effort last time she bounced right back to form to win nicely yesterday under Jack Tudor.  She isn’t the biggest, but has a big heart and handled the ground with ease.  We changed tactics to a front running ride having felt the muddling pace at Plumpton last time did not help her chances last time and she enjoyed the first circuit of the race in an un-contested lead.  She was joined and passed with a circuit to go but that probably helped more as Jack was able to sit in behind and let that one carry her along before a great jump at the second last hurdle took her back to the lead again.  She went clear approaching the last and Jack kept her up to her work up the hill but it was a comfortable success.  There were a few members of the Racing Club in attendance and so it was a great afternoon for them all.  Jockey Jack Tudor went on the have a double on the day winning the lucky last for trainer Sam Drinkwater.

                 Only Fools runs today!
We start the new week with two jumps meetings, one at Fontwell and one at Southwell. We have one runner today, Only Fools who runs in the 3:18 pm handicap hurdle, over 2 1/2miles at Fontwell and Jack Tudor rides. She put in a rare below par effort at Plumpton last time, but if she bounces back to her previous form, she looks to have a great chance today. She won at Ludlow and then finished a close third at Leicester. She won’t mind the ground and it is a small field. She is 10/3 in the betting and hopefully she won’t be far away.

 Thanksforthehelp runs at Cheltenham Today

While the long journey to Hexham didn’t quite pay off yesterday, hopefully we may have more luck with Jilaijone running at Fakenham.  He runs in the 4.25pm valuable handicap hurdle at 4.25pm and Jack Tudor rides.  He ran better than the bare form suggests in the Betfair hurdle at Newbury last time and this race is a much lower class.  He is about 8/1 in the betting and I think the ground and track will suit – he is not the biggest so should be able to nip around the corners nicely!  He was very consistent and ran some great races earlier in the season before getting stuck in the mud at Sandown in December.  He will enjoy todays better ground and I think he has a good chance.
