It was a good day for the stable yesterday with an across the card double at opposite ends of the country courtesy of Mr Clarkson at Exeter and Starchitect (pictured above) at Ayr (yes, Ayr is technically in another country!). Mr Clarkson (pictured with delighted connections below) displayed a good attitude to stay on determinedly to land his first start over hurdles having won a bumper on the track last time. Runner-up to Finian's Oscar in an Irish point-to-point, he will stay further and could defy a penalty. He has certainly already given David's new syndicate members 'Pipe's Prospectors' a great deal of enjoyment. Meanwhile Starchitect managed to get off the mark over fences at Ayr with a classy performance. He did no more than he was entitled to on official figures, but it was good to see him run out a cosy winner nonetheless...Tom Scudamore will ride few easier winners all season. This will have done Starchitect's confidence no harm whatsoever and he can go on to better things.

There are two jumps cards taking place this afternoon with action from Ayr and Exeter while there is also an all-weather flat card at Kempton. The stable has runners at both National Hunt meetings again with Mr Clarkson, Arkadios, Obistar and Red Square Revival on duty at Exeter, while Starchitect represents the stable at Ayr. Stable jockey Tom Scudamore has stayed up in Scotland for the ride aboard Starchitect in the novices' chase at 2.20pm. He was a 150 rated hurdler and looks to have been found a good opportunity here. Mango Cap is a non-runner in the 2.55pm race following his run at the track yesterday.

There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps action from Plumpton and Ayr while there is also an all-weather flat card from Wolverhampton. It is going to be a busy day for the yard with runners at both of the National Hunt fixtures. I will start at Plumpton where Work contests the two mile novices' hurdle at 1.25pm. She looked the likeliest winner on her debut at Ffos Las until unseating Tom Scudamore at the penultimate flight, although she was a little disappointing last time when fourth. She should run well with a clear round but Bastien is a short price and will take a lot of beating. Sweettoothtommy ran well when runner-up at Taunton last time out and a similar effort would see him go close in the staying handicap chase at 3.05pm - David Noonan rides our Plumpton pair.

There are just two meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps action from Kelso and Fakenham. Fakenham have to pass an inspection and the weather at the moment does not look good. What amazes me is that northern track Kelso are set to go ahead without any problems. If the action goes ahead we could have three runners in Work, Poker Play and Mango Cap.

There are five meetings taking place this afternoon and the good news is that Wetherby have cancelled their early morning inspection meaning that all fixtures will go ahead as planned. There are jumps cards from Warwick, Kempton and Wetherby while there are all-weather flat meetings from Lingfield and Wolverhampton. Stable jockey Tom Scudamore travels to Warwick today where he has three good rides for the stable - the best of them would appear to be in the Listed novices' chase at 1.50pm where he rides last season's Albert Bartlett third Champers On Ice (pictured above) at 1.50pm. He was the best of these over timber and demonstrated his wellbeing with a facile success over the larger obstacles at Uttoxeter last time. Tom also rides Saint John Henry in the Pertemps Qualifier at 2.25pm - he was a course and distance winner last time and a repeat of that effort would see him go well despite a 7lbs higher mark. Doctor Harper runs in the Classic handicap chase at 3.35pm - it is a really competitive contest over 3m5f and after being narrowly beaten at Cheltenham last time it would be great if he could go one better, although he too has a higher mark to contend with. All three of our Warwick runners look to have decent chances at fair prices.

There are only three meetings taking place this afternoon following the abandonment of Sedgefield due to snow. That leaves us with a jumps card from Huntingdon and a couple of all-weather flat meetings from Lingfield and Wolverhampton. It's a shame that we have lost Sedgefield to the elements as David was set to run new recruit Timeforben who was due to make her debut for the stable in the bumper - still, I am sure she will have other engagements very soon. The box had already left for the long journey north when the meeting was cancelled - the stable now has no runners this afternoon.

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Catterick and Leicester as well as all-weather fixtures from Newcastle and Chelmsford City. I should at this point congratulate Newcastle for their effort in putting up £117,000 in prize money for their all-weather card - I am quick to criticise when it comes to the poor prize money often on offer at these fixtures so it is only right that I am lavish with the kudos when they do a good job. David has a couple of runners today at Leicester as Thunder Pass and Great Tempo represent the stable. Thunder Pass drops into selling company for the first time at 1.35pm - he was a decent stayer on the flat but is yet to produce that level of form over timber. He has it to do according to official figures but he could yet improve. Great Tempo (pictured above) was disappointing on his handicap debut in the fog at Haydock but back in novice company he looks to have a good chance.
